Poco Loco Egg refers to an egg character created in Roblox who was recorded running in a circle with a sombrero on its head to the song "Un Poco Loco" by Anthony Gonzalez and Gael García Bernal.

Origin

On December 21st, 2017, Disney uploaded the song clip from the family movie "Coco" to YouTube. The clip gained over 72.5 million views and 368,000 likes in one and a half years (shown below, left). On March 16th, 2019, YouTuber Antoni Przedmojski uploaded the video of the Roblox egg character crediting Instagram user Jazamir6^[1] as the creator. The video accumulated over 253,000 views and 11,000 likes in two months (shown below, right).

Spread

On April 8th, 2019, Antoni Przedmojski uploaded a "sequel" to the original video of multiple Roblox eggs with tall hats circling around to the song "Un Poco Loco" (shown below). The video garnered over 61,300 views and 2,400 likes in a month.

On April 9th, Redditor XrioK uploaded a Roblox of image of the egg with a shoe on it's head to r/Dankmemes^[3] refering to the song's lyrics (shown below, left). The image gained over 20 points (93% upvoted) in a month. April 14th, 5yrex^[2] uploaded fan art of the egg to Instagram and gained over 100 likes in a month (shown below, right).

TikTok users began creating homages to the character. On April 25th, @TootyMcNooty uploaded an animation (shown below, left). The video garnered over 411,600 likes and 30,400 shares in a week. On May 1st, @vapelacroixmom posted a video of themself painting over a decoration with an image of the egg (shown below, right). The video accumulated over 290,900 likes and 11,500 shares in five days.
