PvZ Tree vs. Yeti or Sherbert the Tree Phonk Edits refers to memes based on a clip of the tree character, Oak, from Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville (PvZ), referred to by fans as Sherbert the Tree, chanting or singing while walking towards a yeti, then blasting the yeti with a yellow wave of sound, knocking it over. As early as February 2026, the clip was paired with a phonk remix of the song "GOZALO" by Ariis. This edit spread over the following months and went viral on TikTok and Instagram Reels in May 2026, with a sped-up version garnering significant virality.

Memes based on the edit include Accuracy Reenactments, animations and Pattern Recognition memes. While the tree is often referred to as "Sherbert," this is not the official name of the tree.

Origin

The scene of the tree attacking the yeti comes from Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville. It depicts several acorns stacking on top of one another and transforming into the tree, called Oak, then chanting and blasting a yeti zombie with a singing attack that knocks it over. The scene was uploaded by YouTuber^[1] AbstraxioN on April 5th, 2020, garnering over 626,000 views in six years.

On September 26th, 2025, Tribal Trap posted a phonk remix of the song "GOZALO" by Ariis on YouTube,^[2] gaining over 2 million views in a year.

On February 17th, 2026, YouTuber^[3] VLcS__io posted a video that replaces the audio of the PvZ tree video with the "GOZALO" remix, gaining over 104,000 views in four months. It is unconfirmed if this is the earliest pairing of the song and video, but it is the earliest known example.

Spread

On May 24th, 2026, TikToker^[4] @quemuesmue posted a low-res, sped-up version of the edit that gained over 7.5 million views in just over two weeks. This sped-up audio was popularized over the following weeks as the meme spread.

On May 30th, TikToker^[5] @xxmlgjuiceboyxx posted an animation based on the PvZ meme, replacing the characters with Angry Birds characters, garnering over 3.6 million views in just over a week.

On June 1st, 2026, the youtooz Instagram^[6] page posted a meme based on the edit, garnering over 1.4 million views in just over a week.

On June 4th, Instagram^[7] user darthwargod posted a version of the meme referencing Fortnite, garnering over 947,000 views in six days.

On June 7th, 2026, TikToker^[8] @peashooter024 posted a meme using footage from the original Plants vs. Zombies that recreates the meme, garnering over 1.3 million views in three days.
