¿Quieres Ser Mi Novia? is a catchphrase and reaction image meme using the stock photograph of a golden labrador retriever puppy holding a bouquet of roses and a sign saying, "Quieres Ser Mi Novia?," which translates to "Do you want to be my girlfriend?" The phrase became the subject of ironic memes in early 2021 on YouTube and TikTok, with a montage featuring the Quieres puppy and a Mariachi band behind the dog gaining virality online.

The earliest known version of the "Quieres Ser Mi Novia?" meme was posted on YouTube[1] by user @elsuperjoe, who edited the Quieres puppy holding a sign saying "Quieres Ser Mi Novia?" and a bouquet of flowers alongside a Mariachi band playing music. The video (seen below) amassed more than 307,000 views and 7,800 likes in three years.

Memes using the edited "Quieres Ser Mi Novia" dog and Mariachi band were popularized on TikTok in the 2020s. For instance, on September 12th, 2023, TikTok[2] user @in.delible posted a version of the meme with ternurines dolls (seen below, left), amassing more than 700,000 plays and 86,000 likes in a year.
On February 14th, TikTok[3] user @azukii_lindemman posted another version of the meme (seen below, right), amassing more than 94,000 plays and 1,000 likes in a year.
