Run That Back Because That Joke Was Horrible refers to a viral video of YouTuber Marski rapping insult-laden bars over Discord voice chat at another user during what appears to be a rap battle session. On January 12th, 2021, YouTuber^[1] drew posted a screen recording of a Discord server's voice chatroom. At first, a man can be heard insulting someone (assumedly Marski) through rap, saying "Nasty ass nigga. And you know what you do after that bitch? You eat that motherfucking fat ass nigga you nasty neck ass," before being cut off by Marski saying, "Run that back." A rewind sound effect then plays and Marski continues to rap bars meant to tear down the opponent (shown below). The video gained over 356,000 views in nine months.

On January 15th, YouTuber^[2] Marski uploaded the clip to his channel, saying it was deleted from TikTok (shown below). The upload gained over 280,000 views in a comparable span of time.

On January 12th, YouTuber ImDontai reacted to the video in a meme reaction video, laughing hysterically at it, gaining over 1.8 million views in nine months (shown below).

On March 14th, iFunny^[4] user Jubbles posted an image macro using a GIF of Walter White yelling at Skylar from Breaking Bad, who looks scared, on the phone with the lyrics on the top, gaining over 1,800 smiles in seven months (shown below).

On May 24th, YouTuber have posted an Osu! video playing a board set to the rap, gaining over 1.8 million views in five months (shown below).

On July 16th, YouTuber ossy balls posted a video featuring a sped-up version of the audio over an image macro of a cursed version of Gerald from Hey Arnold captioned with the full transcript, gaining over 389,000 views in three months (shown below).

On August 1st, TikToker @renxethan posted a video using an original sound consisting of a sped-up version of the viral video's audio, gaining over 170,000 views in two months (shown below).

The sound inspired over 2,000 videos on TikTok by October 14th. For example, on August 19th, TikToker @simon2slick posted a video to the sound, gaining over a million views in two months (shown below, left). On August 22nd, TikToker @nuhchez posted a video using the sound, gaining over 1.3 million views in a comparable span of time (shown below, right).
