About

Screaming Jake Peralta Playing Guitar is a memorable moment from the American situational comedy series Brookly Nine-Nine. In the clip, Detective Jake Peralta screams while playing an acoustic guitar at a suspect he is interrogating. Online, people use the clip in reaction image macros, GIFs and object labeling memes to express frustration, particularly frustration towards another's overwrought or unnecessary explanations.

Origin

On November 5th, 2013, Fox aired the Brooklyn Nine-Nine episode "48 Hours."[1] In the episode, Detective Jake Peralta (portrayed by Andy Samberg) apprehends a suspect, Dustin Whitman (Kid Cudi) without evidence. Peralta interrogates Whitman by attempting to irritate him into confessing to a crime. One such technique includes playing the guitar poorly and screaming in a high-pitched manner (shown below).
