About

Balloon-letter-guy-glitch.me is a generator website on which people can parody the work of Michael James Schneider, who is known for social media posts in which he spells out platitude and famous tweets out in letter-shaped balloons. After being developed, multiple Twitter users created parodies of Schneider's work, posting graphic and nonsensical messages.

History

On August 31st, 2020, Twitter user and developer @GuamHat[1] posted that he had completed a generator on which people can write their own message in balloon letters, akin to the work of Michael James Schneider.



On the site,[2] users can select several templates featuring Schneider, enter text in a box to generate text, and use a color slider to decide the color of the balloons (shown below).

Online Presence

After the app was posted to Twitter, users began posting parodies of Schneider using the generator. For example, user @LanceStLaurent[3] posted using text from a Kevin Smith tweet, gaining over 120 likes in one day (shown below, left). User @BonerWizard[4] tweeted "Keep Diarrhea In Ur Butt So It Gets Hard. Then Its No Longer Diarrhea," gaining over 280 likes in twelve hours (shown below, right).
