About

Xmail, also known as X Mail, is an upcoming email service and application that is part of the broader ecosystem of services associated with Elon Musk's X brand, which is the rebranded version of Twitter after the billionaire purchased the social media site in 2022. Musk has rumored Xmail since early 2024 and aims to integrate communication features, possibly leveraging the platform's large user base and Musk's vision for an all-in-one application. In December 2024, a cryptic tweet by Elon Musk mentioning Xmail gained viral attention, sparking a debate that the email service would rival Google's Gmail.

History

The concept of Xmail was first mentioned by Elon Musk on February 22nd, 2024, during an interaction with user @natemcgrady,[1] who wrote, "When we making XMail?" to which Musk responded, "It’s coming." The interaction (seen below) amassed more than 239,000 views and 3,100 likes in 10 months.
