About
SpongeBob SpongeBob, Patrick Patrick, or, SpongeBob "All The Small Things" Cover refers to a viral video and song cover of Blink-182's "All The Small Things." The video uses footage from a viral TikTok video posted in September 2021 of someone showing off SpongeBob SquarePants figurines lined up on top of a door frame. The TikTok audio was mashed into a song cover posted to YouTube in October 2021. The song cover was then remixed into memes on iFunny and TikTok starting in October 2021.
Origin
On August 5th, 2021, YouTuber SAWNDIR posted a video edit of an MTV2 Video Mod[12] SpongeBob Squarepants animated music video set to "All The Small Things" by Blink-182. In the video, he edits the audio so he melodically sings the name of each character as they appear to the tune of the song, although without a backing track, gaining over 88,000 views in three months (shown below, left). The idea for the mash-up was inspired by a resurfaced video[6] from a 2005 segment of MTV2's series Video Mods. The video is of a CGI SpongeBob scene where all the characters are dancing to "All The Small Things." The video (shown below, right) was uploaded to YouTube[7] on July 16th, 2021, and received roughly 374,100 views over the course of three months.
On September 10th, TikToker[1] @boyd_skyler posted a video where he moves the camera down a line of SpongeBob figurines as he says different buzzwords or catchphrases from the show, moving to each one. The last figurine in the line-up he identifies as the Fortnite cube, Kevin. The TikTok (shown below) received roughly 6.2 million plays and 1.5 million likes over the course of one month.
