On April 25th, 2019, Imgur [1] user ADashOfCloakAndALotOfKnives posted the earliest known version of the image with the caption "When you look at a meme for 30 sec then you notice it is an ad." In less than one month, the post received more than 2,000 points and 96,000 views (shown below).
