Part of a series on Twilight. [View Related Entries]

About

Still Not as Gay as Twilight is a phrase used in image macros and Demotivationals which mocks the Twilight franchise of books and films. Images accompanying the phrase usually depict something which is perceived as homosexual in nature, with the caption asserting that no matter how gay something can get, Twilight is gayer.

Origin and Spread

Although the Twilight Saga experienced its first surge of popularity in 2008, search interest in the phrase began in the summer of 2011. The first instance appears to be a Reddit thread posted on July 8th.[1] The meme expresses the deep-seeded disdain many male, teenage net users hold against the series, which has been criticized throughout its short history.
