Street Fighter 6 Character Creator refers to a feature in Street Fighter 6 that allows players to make a custom character. Unlike many games with similar features, Street Fighter 6 is particularly generous in allowing players the freedom to alter the sizes of body parts to their hearts content, resulting in many players making highly disproportionate humanoid creatures. Clips and pictures of some players' bizarre custom characters spread on social media in mid-October 2022.

Origin

On October 7th, 2022, Street Fighter 6 went into a closed beta.^[1] Players with access to the beta quickly began experimenting with the game's character creation function and discovered the character creator offered tremendous freedom in allowing players to make various aspects of their character different sizes, leading to posts of misshapen characters created in the game's engine. One of the first tweets showing off a bizarre character was made by @anxiousamoeba^[2] showing off a character created by @giasekando26, gaining over 1,700 retweets and 17,000 likes (shown below).

Spread

Over the following day, players with access to the beta showed off some of their humorous custom characters or posted about others they'd spotted in the game. Popular examples include a tweet by @tyakabou^[3] that gained over 660 retweets and 1,900 likes (shown below, left) and a tweet by @HotDogIsTasty^[4] that gained over 490 retweets and 1,900 likes (shown below, right), both in three days.

On October 8th, user @itotweets_ posted a compilation of streamer Maximilian Dood reacting to the various bizarre custom characters he encountered in the beta, gaining over 8,100 retweets and 50,000 likes (shown below)

The trend was covered by multiple news outlets, including IGN,^[1] Kotaku^[5] and The Sun.^[6]
