About
Pretty Little Liars is an ABC Family drama-mystery television show which ran for seven seasons between 2010 and 2017.[9] The show is loosely based off the book series of the same name by Sara Shepard. The show follows five girls, Spencer Hastings, Alison DiLaurentis, Aria Montgomery, Hanna Marin and Emily Fields, in the fictional town of Rosewood, Pennsylvania. After Alison goes missing, the clique falls apart. A year later, the group begins receiving threats from a mysterious person who signs their tweets "A." or "A.D." The girls first believe it's Alison, but after Alison is found dead, it is revealed that "A." is somebody else.
History
The show premiered on June 8th, 2010 on ABC Family.[5] After opening to mixed critical reception, the show became very popular, and debuted as number 1 in key demographics, including 12–34 teens women 18–34, and women 18–49. For the first five seasons, the show averaged between 2.5 and 4 million viewers. The shows and its performances were nominated for and won several awards, including many Teens Choice Awards, People's Choice Awards, and more. The show ran for seven seasons, and finished on June 27th, 2010.
Pretty Little Liars-Inspired School Threats
Pretty Little Liars School Threats refers to an event in which two teenage girls were arrested and tried in juvenile court for making threats against their school in the style of mysterious Pretty Little Liars villain A. On November 30th, 2017, Piqua High School cancelled classes after a girl wrote "I'm still going to shoot up the school. A." on a bathroom mirror.[1] The girl was one of two students' joint Snapchat account, on which they posed as the anonymous villain A.
The school cancelled classes at the threat. Police then arrested the two girls, 14 and 15, who were tried in juvenile court. The news was covered by TV Guide,[2] Cosmopolitan,[10] Cinema Blend,[11] Time,[3] The Daily Dot,[4] and more.
