About
This Bitch Empty! Yeet! refers to a Vine in which a young woman is handed a soda can and exclaims "This bitch empty!" and then throws it into a hallway of classmates while shouting "Yeet!" The popularity of the Vine led it to be copied and referenced in text posts and jokes in which a person throws something.
Origin
While the original source of the Vine has not been found, a mirror was uploaded to the BestVines YouTube account on July 17th, 2014. This is the earliest known copy of the Vine, though it is likely the Vine was posted before July of 2014. (shown below).
Precursor
Prior to the Vine, "Yeet" had become slang for throwing away trash. Users credit a Vine by David Banna in which he throws a CD while shouting "Yeet" as the origin for the term, though that Vine appears to be lost (YouTube embed shown below).
Urban Dictionary [3] has a definition of "Yeet" accounting for this posted on April 11th, 2014 that reads:
To violently throw an object that you deem to be worthless, inferior or just plain garbage. It is not uncommon for the person participating in this act to yell the word, "YEET!" at the top of his or her lungs, notifying all surrounding individuals in the area that said object is useless.
Spread
The Vine grew popular over the course of the summer. On October 2nd, Brandon Kennedy posted it to his Vine account,[1] where it gained over 16 million loops, 4,900 likes, and 2,600 likes. It also spawned imitators. Two popular imitations include a Vine by Jon Roberts[2] in which a grandmother recreates the original (YouTube embed shown below, left) and a video where a young boy accidentally throws a soda bottle at his mother which was posted on the DailyVines YouTube account on September 2nd, 2014 (shown below, right)
Additionally, the Vine began getting referenced in various image macros in which a character throws something while exclaiming "Yeet!" For example, Funnyjunk user Goldwolf[4] uploaded a reversed GIF of Pikachu jumping into a Pokémon player-character's arms (such that it looks that the player is tossing Pikachu away) with the caption on September 21st, 2016 (shown below, left). A post by Tumblr user amewi[5] applied it to Mass Effect: Andromeda, gaining over 4,700 notes (shown below, right).
