This Ice Cream Tastes Weird is an animation meme trend where users film comedy skits or create animations in which one person claims their ice cream tastes weird, another person implies that the ice cream contains their vaginal discharge or semen, and the ice cream eater proceeds to rub it all over their face. The trend is inspired by a 2022 video of TikToker @jabottomlip eating ice cream and was popularized between July and August 2025, inspiring numerous viral examples, including animations. The trend is often set to a slowed-down version of the song "Work From Home" by Fifth Harmony.
Origin
On April 15th, 2022, TikToker[1] @jabottomlip posted a thirst trap video in which he messily eats ice cream, spilling some on his chin, while walking forward in slow motion, screaming at the end. The video gained over 2.3 million views in three years.
On April 23rd, TikToker[2] @krixxt_ commented under the video, "bro everytime 'that's not ice cream that's my~'" garnering over 1,200 likes in three years. This is the earliest known user to make the joke about the ice cream not being ice cream.

In July 2025, the video made a resurgence as a reanimation and meme trend in which the joke about the ice cream being discharge was attached to new versions of the clip.
One of the earliest known examples was posted by Instagram[3] user ms.creamyyy on July 13th, 2025, garnering over 500,000 likes in two months.
Spread
The trend continued to spread over the following weeks on sites like TikTok, YouTube and Instagram via both comedy skits and animations.
On July 17th, 2025, TikToker[4] @saeyoung.choe posted an animation based on the video in which SpongeBob eats ice cream and learns that it's actually Sandy's discharge, garnering over 750,000 views in two months.

On July 18th, TikToker[5] @ripphonkler posted a version of the meme using the original clip of @jabottomlip and the Smart Guy With Glasses meme as the person who "made" the ice cream, garnering over 900,000 views in two months.

On July 28th, YouTuber[6] Gbillz posted a video following the trend that gained over 308,000 views in just over a month.
On August 22nd, 2025, TikToker[7] @anna.srnss posted a video following the trend that gained over 1.5 million views in two weeks.
