This Is Pretty Terrific is a quote said by Moe from The Simpsons in the seventh episode of season 13, titled "Brawl in the Family." The line itself is the punchline to a pun set up by Lenny and Carl, in which it's not a man with two wives who is happy, but two knives. The scene is used as an exploitable image macro online where people often photoshop various elements on top of Moe.

Origin

The episode was first aired on January 6th, 2002, with the scene itself coming midway through the episode. After Homer is upset over having two wives at home (Marge and a girl he married drunkenly in Las Vegas), he stumbles into Moe's tavern where Lenny and Carl set up the two wives/knives pun. The caption itself was first used as a standalone quote and meme for some time, with a Reddit post in the /r/simpsons subreddit on June 11, 2015, by Redditor^[1] bgdish being the first example of it in the wild (shown below).

The moment was also uploaded to YouTube by the channel Chris Jenkins^[2] on July 5th, 2015, where it gained 40,000 views in seven years (shown below).

Spread

The meme began to spread as it was adapted to multiple situations via Photoshop, mostly to add more text or pictures to help enhance the punchline of something being "pretty terrific." On October 29th, 2020, the Tumblr^[3] account epicdndmemes posted a version of the meme that references a Rogue who just unlocked dual wielding, gaining 715 notes in two years (shown below).
