On January 30th, 2022, Instagram^[1] user daddy_chungles posted a Floppa meme showing the cat next to a text box reading, "This man Gucci'd down to the socks but need $4🤨🤨🤨," garnering over 5,400 likes in a year (shown below). This is the earliest known use of the meme.

Spread

The format spread over the following months. On February 2nd, 2022, Instagram^[2] user chronic.memesv2 posted a version of the meme referencing the adoring fan, garnering over 35,300 likes in a year (shown below, left). On February 25th, Instagram^[3] user beef.dust posted a version of the meme that was reposted by Instagram^[6] user squidysgalaxy that day, garnering over 10,000 likes in a year (shown below, right).

On April 25th, X^[4] user @falloutofcon posted a version of the meme featuring an image of Benny from Fallout: New Vegas, garnering over 4,300 likes in a year (shown below). On August 8th, 2023, X^[5] user XpostGateway reposted the meme by squidysgalaxy, garnering over 3,500 likes in three days.
