About
Tuca Donka is a phonk song known for the viral TikTok Jujutsu Kaisen fan edit video Hakari Dance. The music and the fan edit became popularized on the platform at the end of 2023 and early 2024 as fans started a campaign requesting the phonk tack to be officially integrated into the upcoming third season of the anime.
Origin
On August 17th, 2023, the YouTube[1] channel @TribalTrapMusic uploaded the Brazilian Phonk music "Tuca Donk" produced by CURSEDEVIL, DJ FKU, Skorde. The video (shown below) amassed 9.7 million views and 170,000 likes in six months.
The clip used for the "Hakari Dance" fan edit comes from a Manga Music Video (MMV), which was posted on YouTube[2] on August 19th, 2023, by @NinjaristicNinja, who paired scenes from the Jujutsu Kaisen (JJK) manga chapters 137 to 221 (shown below) with the music "When My Devil Rises" by MAN WITH A MISSION. The video amassed more than 8.6 million views and 199,000 likes in five months.

Going into September 2023, TikTok[3] user @nikov.x posted the earliest known "Hakari Dance" fan edit combining @NinjaristicNinja's MMV and the Brazilian phonk song "Tuca Donka." The edit features the JJK character Hakari doing a special for his ability (shown below, left), which amassed over 6 million plays and 628,000 likes since uploaded on September 11th. On September 13th, TikTok[4] user @.engn uploaded a similar "Hakari Dance" fan edit (shown below, right), amassing more than 9 million plays and 664,000 likes in five months.

The JJK fan edit went viral on TikTok, inspiring parodies and cosplay videos recreating the clip. For example, user @rj_hooks[5] uploaded a video on September 14th, 2023, doing the "Hakari Dance" (shown below), receiving over 6.5 million plays and 573,000 likes in five months.

On December 31st, 2023, a Change.org[6] petition was created by Philip Krause titled "Make Tuca Donka Hakari's actual jackpot song in the JJK/ Jujutsu Kaisen anime." The page asks Japanese animation Studio Mappa, who is responsible for producing the upcoming anime's third season, to use "Tuca Donka, or any Brazillian phonk song play in the Culling Game arc when Hakari gets his jackpot." The petition has garnered more than 30,000 signatures in less than a month. (shown below).
