Gege When I Catch You is a catchphrase coined by enraged Jujutsu Kaisen fans who were unsatisfied with the plot development decisions that the author of the manga and anime series, Gege Akutami, came up with. After a major plot twist in chapter 236 of the manga, released in mid-September 2023, people on Twitter (X) and TikTok started to use the phrases "Where is Gege Akutami" and "Gege When I Catch You" as memes to express how displeased they were feeling.
Origin
The earliest mention of the phrase "Gege When I Catch You" was posted on X[1] by user @jujufalse on December 21st, 2022, as a reaction to spoilers and rumors of a character's death. The tweet (shown below) was accompanied by the Tommy Shelby Holding a Gun to His Head reaction meme, which amassed roughly 820 likes and 118 retweets in a year.

Spread
The catchphrase was largely popularized on September 20th, 2023, when leaks of the latest manga chapter revealed the death of fan-favorite character Satoru Gojo. Enraged fans decided to post various memes on X to express their feelings shortly after it spread.
For example, on September 20th, X[2] user @mabelinnmrnd posted an image of the manga chapter accompanied by the "Girl Screaming" meme, which garnered over 887,000 views and 20,700 likes in a day (seen below).

As the leaks of Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 236 were confirmed on social media, more fans decided to post their rage towards the author of the series. For example, on September 20th, 2023, X[3] user @invocationTCG posted an image (shown below, left) of the game Doom paired with the recaption text "WHERE IS GEGE AKUTAMI," which amassed over 156,000 views and 6,800 likes in a day.
On the same day, X[4] user @locklandeli uploaded an image of a skeleton in hell with the caption "Where is Gege Akutami," which amassed roughly 17 likes in a day (shown below, right).
