The girls the gays and X if it's not too much trouble, thanks guys," with "X" being the name of the shown subject. The meme is based on a viral video from TikTok by user @colemxn.2 in which X is "Coleman" that was uploaded in September 2023, gaining viral spread over the following months on sites like Twitter / X and Reddit.

Origin

On September 26th, 2023, TikToker^[1] @colemxn.2 posted a selfie video in which he smiles and gives a thumbs up under the caption, "When you say something is for the girls and the gays, can you include me in that as well? The girls the gays and Coleman if it's not too much trouble thanks guys." The video gained over 5.1 million views in four months (shown below).

Spread

The video and screenshots of it gained viral spread over the following months, inspiring redraws and memes replacing Coleman with another character. On October 6th, 2023, a redraw was posted to the /r/shoujokakumeiutena^[2] subreddit that gained over 270 upvotes in three months (shown below, left).

On the same day, X^[3] user @lilfowl posted a redraw that gained over 4,500 likes in the same span of time (shown below, right). On October 10th, TikToker^[4] @maliciouswomen posted a video in which they attached a label to a candle reading, "Here for the girls, gays and theys (and Coleman)" garnering over 100,000 views in three months.

On October 23rd, Tumblr^[5] user woamna posted a screenshot of the original video, garnering over 80,000 notes in three months. On November 9th, X^[6] user @FRUlTGUMMlEZ posted a Chainsaw Man redraw of the meme, garnering over 2,100 likes in two months (shown below).

That day, a piece of Adventure Time fan art referencing the meme, originally by private X^[7] user @mayvette, was posted to /r/adventuretime,^[8] garnering over 4,200 upvotes in two months (shown below, left). On November 24th, X^[9] user @garfbot2000 posted another version of the meme featuring Finn from Adventure Time, garnering over 55,000 likes in two months (shown below, right).

On November 25th, X^[10] user @1000_mikan posted a version of the meme replacing Coleman with streamer Ludwig, garnering over 9,600 likes in two months. On January 2nd, 2024, Redditor u/linuxaddict334 posted the original screenshot to /r/CuratedTumblr^[11] along with a comment by Tumblr^[12] user hollerite left on the October 2023 post by Tumblr user woamna, garnering over 10,000 upvotes (shown below).
