About

The Young Indian Method, also known as the Young Indians Method, refers to an alleged business method in which entrepreneurs use cheap, young labor from India and then brag about exploiting them on TikTok akin to Hustle Culture content. It's ultimately unclear whether the content is mostly earnest or ironic. The name was coined by a YouTuber and TikToker named Enard.Ecom, however, the method was mostly inspired by YouTuber Iman Gadzhi who started to promote remote labor from India as a way for first-world businessmen to make money at their expense, due to differences in exchange rates.

Origin

In mid-2023, YouTuber Iman Gadzhi (known for giving entrepreneurial and business advice) started including segments in his videos where he recommended that solo entrepreneurs outsource their labor to countries like Brazil, Romania and India where differences in exchange rates would allow them to pay their workers less on average. For example, he made it a point in his June 6th, 2023, video[1] called "Do THIS to Make $10,000 as a Student" at the 4:52-minute mark (shown below). Gadzhi would later be namedropped by a TikTok[2] account called @young_indian_method.

On July 1st, 2023, TikToker[3] @mscceo posted a video with text reading, "Pov: You make money of cheap indians," gaining roughly 29,200 plays and 560 likes in one month (shown below, left). On July 2nd, 2023, TikToker[4] @hide69real posted a video with text reading, "POV: Young indians make you six figures…" and a description about a Telegram group, reading, "my telegram group name: IndianMethod ,join for free 🔥." The video received roughly 102,900 plays and 6,900 likes in one month (shown below, right).

The term "Young Indian Method" was officially coined by TikToker[5] @enard.ecom on July 4th, 2023, in a video where he had a text-to-speech voice proclaiming that the "best side hustle is the Young Indian Method." Over the course of one month, the video gained roughly 411,600 plays and 10,600 likes (shown below). On the same day, the TikToker posted a similar video called "The unknow new sidehustle (way better than dropshipping)" to YouTube,[6] gaining over 12,100 views in a month.

Never trust influencers trying to earn your trust by showing off how rich they claim to be. They want something from you, and all the luxuries they show off can be rented. Hell, there are photoshoot stages made to resemble things like luxury aircraft. Not to mention the flagrantly fake text exchange screenshot.
