Your 3am Usual Sir is a photoshop image macro popular on music-related forums and imageboards. The memes feature a stock photograph of a waiter holding a dish[1] with an oversized album on it, accompanied by the text, "Your 3am usual sir," implying that the album is ideal for 3:00 a.m. listening. Albums featured typically deal with themes of sadness or heartbreak. The format is similar to the Dole Dippers / Your X, Sir format.
Origin
Prior to April 4th, 2020, an unknown user posted a photoshopped stock photograph of a waiter holding up the album "Loveless" by My Bloody Valentine somewhere on the web. Although it's unknown who made the original image, one of the earliest reposts comes from Instagram user tiddyfuckthalasagna on April 4th. On April 6th, Redditor asafagous[2] reposted the image to /r/shoegaze (shown below). The post received over 660 upvotes in 6 months.
Spread
The image macro continued to spread around music-related forums and imageboards, including Facebook groups, subreddits, and 4chan's /mu/ board. On July 29th, 2020, Redditor PoutineBoy[3] posted a version of the meme featuring The Weeknd's "After Hours," garnering over 150 upvotes in 2 months (shown below, left). On August 9th, Facebook page Lil Peep Mafia[4] shared a version of the meme featuring a waiter holding up a Lil Peep album, garnering over 1,000 reactions and 550 shares in 4 months (shown below, right).
As the meme spread, users started applying the top and bottom text to other stock photos of waiters and waitresses. On August 3rd, Twitter user morningglorymemes[5] uploaded a version featuring a different waiter and the caption, "Can I offer you your sad 3am usual sir?" (shown below, left). On August 9th, Facebook page Completely Original Not-Stolen Posting[6] shared an image with the titular caption, featuring a waiter holding two albums rather than one (shown below, right).

Dole Dippers is an animated advertisement for the ice cream Dole Dippers, which features two wealthy ape women seated by the pool that are delivered a plate of the frozen snack by their penguin servant. Online, the commercial has spawned various remix videos, image macros and photoshops. In 2019, Your X, Retard and Your X, Sir snowclones / exploitables received spread, with the memes utilizing the images of Dole Dipper penguin and The Fresh-Prince of Bel-Air character Geoffrey holding a tray.
