The season one finale of The Book of Boba Fett was something a lot of fans were looking forward to. With the first four episodes dedicated to the main Boba Fett storyline and two devoted to the Mandalorian getting his much-needed resolution in-between season two and three, excitement was at an all-time high when it finally came ready for the big battle to start.

Much like with prior episodes, most of the extended action sequences took place inside the city of Mos Espa, which combined with the characters, cameos and resolutions involved, resulted in a lot of memes and hot takes. Spoilers ahead, obviously.

One of the biggest talks of discussion was around the character Cad Bane, who was an important character for several episodes in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. A fellow bounty hunter like Boba Fett, in a lot of extra Star Wars media, Cad was seen as a stand-in father figure for Boba, teaching him about bounty hunting and always besting him when they would fight.

This character, never appearing in live-action adaptations before, was an episode six surprise and inserted himself into a core part of the story in the finale. In his totally-expected defeat by Boba, a lot of people were able to pick up on the symbolism involved, as well as see that the fight had much more significance behind it than just two warring factions.

Season three's release date for The Mandalorian is still unknown, as well as what these events from Boba Fett's series will have on it, but the next chapter is expected to be released sometime in 2022 on Disney+.
