Comedian Bob Saget, best known as the star of television's Full House and the host of America's Funniest Home Videos, passed away suddenly yesterday at the age of 65.
Saget was found in his Florida hotel room Sunday afternoon at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando. Investigators on the scene found no signs of drug use or foul play, and the cause of death is currently unknown.
Saget was best known to America as Danny Tanner on Full House, an extremely wholesome patriarch who usually wrapped up episodes by gently teaching his daughters lessons learned by the preceding events. He was also the host of America's Funniest Home Videos, where he narrated over what essentially amounted to pre-internet "Try Not To Laugh" compilations.
Though Saget maintained a soft image on television, he was known in comedy circles for being incredibly raunchy. This became known to the wider public with the release of The Aristocrats, a documentary film about comedians telling different versions of the same raunchy joke, and Saget's version is incredibly graphic. He also made less family-friendly appearances on The Chappelle Show and The Norm Show. His 2013 stand-up special That's What I'm Talkin' About was nominated for a Grammy.

Bob Saget was as lovely a human as he was funny. And to my mind, he was hilarious. We were close friends and I could not have loved him more. pic.twitter.com/TM8r1hzCfO

Just the funniest and nicest…— Jon Stewart (@jonstewart) January 10, 2022
I know that people lose loved ones, good people, every day. No one gets a pass. But the loss of Bob Saget hits deep. If you didn’t know him, he was kind and dear and cared about people deeply. He was the definition of “a good egg”. Too soon he leaves. #RipBobSaget

Beautiful Bob Saget passed away today at 65. He had a big, big heart and a wonderfully warped comic mind. He gave the world a lot of joy and lived his life for goodness’ sake. :’^} pic.twitter.com/QVSITsfaVj
