Twitch Quells Female Innovation, Stamps Out 'Buttscreen' Meta In New TOS Update

Twitch apparently hates to see a girlboss winning, as the platform has banned one of the most innovative (and somewhat contentious) attempts to skirt its sexual content policy in a recent Terms of Service update.

Roughly two weeks ago, well-known streamer and creator Morgpie, innovator of the "Topless Livestream Meta" that forced Twitch to update its content policy to ban "implied nudity," figured out how to rig her clothes to act as a green screen, leading to streams where she played video games and the gameplay displayed entirely on her "posterior."

Technically, this did not break the Twitch content guidelines at the time, as nothing about the stream implied that Morgpie was nude. However, the site's latest update has targeted streams like Morgpie's and StrawberryTabby's infamous 'Show Hole' Stream by banning "content that focuses on intimate body parts for a prolonged period of time."

Twitch announcement of new guidelines

Once again, however, some have criticized Twitch for being vague, as "prolonged period of time" is subjective, among other guidelines in the recent update not being explicitly clear.

The update is the latest in what has become an ongoing game of cat-and-mouse between Twitch and the popular risqué content creators on the platform, as every time Twitch stomps out a new "frontier" in the platform's "sexual content" meta, the platform's lewd content creators innovate and find new ways to show off their assets that technically skirt the site's vague Terms of Service.

This suggests that while the "buttscreen" may be gone, we can safely assume that something even wilder will develop in its wake.
