Now that you mention it, categorizing memes by tiers of nuances isn't so farfetched…

For example, some memes have deepfrying as an integral component such as E, which makes it at least tier 2 since you must explain why deepfrying is funny first. But we all know there are many more components to E, like Lord Farquaad (and so Shrek) and Markiplier, which makes it a much higher tier meme as a result.

And if someone is crazy enough to start mapping the relationships between tiers of memes, the map itself could become a meta-meme.

If you can explain WHY deep-frying is funny, you're a wiser man than I.
