You see, for all their bitching about a lack of female representation in geek culture, women like her absolutely thrive on the (false) impression of their rarity. As long as she's one of only a few prominent female indie developers, she can make her living purely by being a novelty. But, if dozens of far more talented women were to suddenly come out of the wood work, she'd lose her bread and butter.
