Mommy Wants the New Dune Game Please is a viral X / Twitter post made by @bottleneckloser, also known as Sabre, in June 2025, in which she asks for someone on the site to buy her the video game Dune: Awakening by posting a selfie, an image of the game's Steam page and writing, "Mommy wants the new Dune game please."

The post went viral after X user @deltastreamin responded to it with, "mommy should seek employment," which was screenshotted and spread to other social media sites. The post inspired memes, including edits that alter the caption or add other visual elements to Sabre's selfie, over the following months. In May 2026, the post had a resurgence on X / Twitter as users began posting parodies of it using the phrasal template "Mommy wants X."

On June 5th, 2025, X^[1] user @bottleneckloser posted a selfie and an image of the Dune: Awakening page on Steam under the caption, "Mommy wants the new Dune game please," garnering over 3.5 million views and 4,500 likes in a year.

On June 6th, X^[2] user @deltastreamin commented on the post, "mommy should seek employment," garnering over 8,600 likes in a year and ratioing the original post.

On June 8th, 2025, Instagram^[3] user lilcasper.v2 reposted the meme, garnering over 14,000 likes in a year. On July 6th, Instagram^[4] user cerostv reposted it to over 4,400 likes in 10 months.

On July 25th, iFunny^[5] user we7e6qx0815442 posted a redraw of the post referencing the Warhammer 40,000 video game Rogue Trader that gained over 2,800 Smiles in 10 months.

On August 26th, the original tweet with X user @deltastreamin's reply was reposted to the /r/okbuddyretard^[10] subreddit, where it received over 3,500 upvotes and 40 comments before being removed by moderators.

On December 29th, 2025, a now-deleted Redditor posted an edit of the meme to the /r/antimeme^[6] subreddit where a commenter, instead of telling OP to get a job, buys her the game, garnering over 8,500 upvotes in five months.

The Mommy Wants X meme then saw a resurgence in May 2026 as a meme format on X / Twitter.

On May 15th, 2026, X^[7] user @KiyyDumb recreated the post, but changed it to reference the game Forza Horizon 6 rather than Dune: Awakening, garnering over 7,100 likes in five days.

On May 17th, X^[8] user @CursedGoo posted a version of the meme that references memes about biblically accurate angels, garnering over 12,000 likes in three days.

On May 19th, 2026, X^[9] user @NotRoPro posted a version that references the video game Half-Life, garnering over 56,000 likes in a day.
