Ghost in the Shell - First trailer for Ghost In The Shell Live-Action Adaptation

Feels soulless, ironically. Take off the title and it's basically just "Generic sci-fi blockbuster #9001". I'd ask "Why bother taking an existing franchise if you aren't going to follow the source material's real spirit in any meaningful way?" but I already know the answer: Money. Even if it's in-name-only, having a franchise behind it always generates more hype that an original work would. Should this succeed, which I imagine it very well might, I except we'll be seeing more "It's like this famous, foreign series! Only not at all so mainstream viewers aren't turned off by it!" type of film. Joy.
