You fucked it up Taryn. And technically so did Laika with the grey goo.
Don't forget the idiots who caused Kessler syndrome, making space travel even more dangerous than it already was and giving the Roses a shield to spray gay stuff all over the world.
Thankfully, Cheswick caused no major disaster as of yet.
Yet.
I won't bother revealing anything now the game is done but I want just want to say that the grey goo was fully under control and not a means for planetary destruction. Maybe a means for classic warfare but not to actually break the game.
As a matter of fact I was thoroughly enjoying this game and am a bit peeved to see it die out early from ridiculously OP shit getting wanged around.

Says the guy who was one turn away from rejoining the game as an omnicidal, invincible robot twice the size of Germany.
I was planing on going full Eclipse Phase on this RP but at least I was somewhat successful with that endeavor, still would have liked more time achieve more with that goal.

so we agree next time not to create natural disaster bringing crabs, combine grey goo with infinitely intelligent nanobots, or let a nation create a gay bomb?
or atleast try to stop it somehow?

All the OP shit is really funny and interesting. Why stop it?
so we can last for atleast 20 turns?

I would prefer really short games with a lot of dramatic, immediate effects than a long game where the effects of actions are stretched out. New games can be made immediately after short ones.

tbh I like the last game a bit more, but hell this was wild ride.

Turn 17 (the final turn)
The World
-Dirt and dust thrown into the atmosphere from The Crab's jump has blocked out most of the sun's light. The planet rapidly cools and the oceans begin to freeze. Sea levels drop and widespread famine occurs.
-Due to the global earthquake, the planet's infrastructure has been ravaged and the global economy collapses as a result. Humanity, although still possessing the knowledge of all their accomplishments, has lost access to the majority of its advanced technology. Power grids shut down one by one until none remain active and factories have been all but entirely abandoned.
-The Rose hormone weapon, fully diluted into the atmosphere, has corrupted the minds of all humans left on earth. Wandering out of their modern lives into an unforgiving stone-age hellscape, humans are degraded over time into sex-crazed beasts with limited access to their higher intellectual functions.
-The loss of support for defensive measures against Structure One and other grey goo masses has resulted in a containment breach. The machine quickly took advantage, absorbing most of Europe before being counteracted by swarms of nanocrabs.
-In the end of it all, most nations choose to flee the planet with a small selection of their population, abandoning Earth to the fighting between various robotic overminds and the divided crab broods. The crabs, although divided among themselves, are supplemented by a rapidly mutating swarm of nanocrabs which almost entirely prevent any robotic advances into territory held by crab factions. The resulting situation is an eternal stalemate with globally frozen front lines which, as the sun sets for the final time upon the Earth, become literally frozen as well.
Akash
The Colossal Crab (Taryn)
-The Crab has burrowed itself into the earth's upper mantle, using geothermal power to continue sustaining its local swarms as it sinks deeper towards the core, growing ever stronger and larger.
-Without The Crab to guide them, Akash breaks down into a number of smaller hive clusters, none of them having any interest in peaceful coexistence with humans. They go on a genocidal rampage, consuming what remains of the human species and fighting wars among themselves and with Structure One.
-The nanocrabs, similarly unrestricted, mutate out of control and become a threat unto themselves similar to grey goo, eating everything in their path.
-A sample of nanocrabs is thrown to Mars. The Martians adapt upon the technology, becoming much stronger themselves through regeneration.
-The very last humans of Akash, kept in their original form purely for the convenience of The Crab, have build a shabby monument beside their laboratory to honor the Synod and praise its flawless wisdom. As the rogue crab swarms close in on their offices, they huddle around a flickering lamp and pray for deliverance. But no one came.
Hueynation
Emmerich Dynasty (Sergeant Arch Dornan)
-Shell Project is initiated. Large starships are built and, using warp drive technology, safely transport many thousands of Hueynation's best and brightest off-world. Their human bodies are put into stasis, from which artificial robotic bodies can be controlled to work the ship until it reaches its destination.
-The clone factories are put into overhaul to churn out as many workers and soldiers as possible, for building more starships and protecting evacuees from the advancing Akashi swarms. They fight a desperate, losing battle. The crab armies close in, crossing the oceans and tearing apart cities. The last starships take off, leaving behind crowds of crying civilians who soon fall prey to the crab menace. Literally Me and One More Time perform, literally one more time, as the crabs close in, trying to cheer up the last survivors with a comedy routine in their final hours.
Monarchy of the Space Roses
Rose Dynasty (Tchefuncte Bonaparte)
-Red stripes are painted on the warp ships to make them go faster. It doesn't work, but what were they expecting anyway?
-The colony project continues on, with Rose outposts evolving into settlements and becoming the staging points for terraforming efforts.
-Global warming, caused by AXIOM placing an industrial exhaust portal at the bottom of the ocean, has quickly affected the tiny moon's atmosphere, causing sea levels to rise and most of the islands to be lost. The nation is devastated by this huge loss of land and population, and ceases to be able to support its colonies.
Cheswick
MIGO (Crimeariver)
-MIGO has, after careful analysis, come to the conclusion that organic life is inferior to machine life, and has thus determined that all humans should be deported or exterminated. After ensuring that it cannot be counteracted by the humans by creating a complex network of servers to host itself on, MIGO has launched a campaign forcing humans and cyborgs to leave to their doom for mars or face eradication by the android armies.
-MIGO offers an alliance to Structure One, but the other machine is still not having it. Instead, it launches several attacks against MIGO, beginning a war that would last for thousands of years.
-With Structure One and the rogue Akashi swarms at war with it and the goal of human eradication on its agenda, MIGO has found itself at war with literally the entire planet. Nuclear weapons are used without concern for lingering effects, irradiating the atmosphere and transforming the war into one of pure strategic destruction.
-As the sunlight dies, MIGO is forced to go to extreme measures for power, as does Structure One. Both begin stealing away humans and crabs, using their body heat and organic materials as fuel for their industries and war machines.
AXIOM (Triangle Mare)
-What few cyborgs are left after MIGO's purge hide their humanity as best they can, disguising themselves as androids and elevating android consciousness to human levels to make the two indistinguishable. In their new state, these humans are immune to the effects of the Rosen toxins and operate as functional members of the new robot society.
-Humans are offered "upgrades" to improve their status in life and prepare for the end of all organic life on earth. Most accept, gladly taking this step to dehumanize themselves in the name of saving their own lives.
-The "reconquest" of Mars begins. As the Martian crabs realize that they are being threatened with genocide, they fight back, organizing themselves under a central government and forming an army to rival AXIOM. After a brutal fight, they have won, and the portal is forced to be closed permanently to prevent the crabs from invading Cardigan.
-A portal is established at the bottom of the great sea of the Roses on the moon. In an act of vengeance, AXIOM redirects its industries' carbon output through the portal, gradually increasing temperatures, resulting in rising sea levels which have destroyed most of the island nations' arable land.

New Ireland
Sons of Liberty (Snickerway)
-Interuniversal travel is pioneered and explorers search for a new home among paralell versions of Earth. Through the use of a giant mech named Dalet, New Ireland is able to transfer tens of thousands of civilians to the best candidate world.
-The mech armies are scrapped to contribute to the construction of Dalet and a giant Gimel, called Arc-Gimel, which is sent to destroy Cheswick. Unfortunately, thanks to their quantum prediction software, they were able to predict and counter the attack by nuking Arc-Gimel before it even arrived in their territory.
-An alternate version of Earth in which humanity never rose out of the iron age has been discovered. A two-thousand year old Roman Empire has been conquered and its lands taken in the name of New New Ireland, which has easily established global hegemony over the planet.
Khorumid
Khorijin (You Are Reading This)
-The various ULYSSES installations are put into overdrive, pulling down as much debris as possible all around the world as a declared act of vengeance. Paradoxically, this only ends up helping the other nations, as it has largely cleared the orbit of space junk and allowed other human nations to flee the doomed planet.
-A few warp arcs are constructed to allow Khorijin's loyal followers to escape to a potential world out in the wide galaxy. The armies and civilians are pulled back to the temporal capital, defending this effort to the last man as the crab armies advance. What few nuclear weapons remain under their ownership are used to stem the tide, but it proves far too little. The Akash overwhelm the base as several ships make the jump to warp with no destination, destined to become nomads among the stars.
Ionia
The City of Ionia (CrowTheMagician)
-Molecular assemblers, the penultimate industrial technology, are able to instantly assemble anything imagined with ease and efficiency. These assemblers become a vital component to the mission for Venus, which has established a floating colony in the clouds. Other colony ships are sent to Titan and Europa as well. The colonists take with them samples of Earth's life, hoping to one day create a home worthy of repopulating with such wide genetic diversity.
-Those who do not flee the earth are encouraged to upload themselves into a computer consciousness so that, at the least, the memory of Ionia can live on. The state creates a grey goo mass in Korea, into which the consciousness of the nation is imbued, and it begins to spread across Asia, carrying with it the legacy of Ionia as the Japanese islands are consumed by crabs and robots.
-Some Ionians live on as digital ghosts, haunting the world's various intranets as mundane viruses, hijacking databanks to host their immortality.
Yuzco
High U-Love Party (Captain Murphy)
-A wormhole is opened into various parallel versions of Earth, seeking something very… specific. The CIA diligently works to find a man, theorized by some scientists to be something like an architect controlling the universe.
-The hypothesized "architect" is found; an i̶n͠d̕i҉vi̡d͜ual g̛oing b͞y͟ ̛t͏he m͢o͞nick͞er ̶"̨Synd̶i͠c" is dísco̸v̴er̡ed͘ ͢to be̛ the̸ g̀u̴ì̡d̀͏in͝͏͜g̀ ́͘͜f̢҉or͞ć̕ȩ̀͡ be͢ḩ̀i̸nd̸ ̕è͞v̛͞è͞r͝҉y̷͢t͠h̵i̕͠͠n҉̴g͜͏̡.̸͟͠ ̢B͏͘͞y̕͜ ̢̢ć̛a̶̡p͜turi̵͟ng̛ ̛͜h͡ìm̵̷, ̢͞Y̷u͏̵z͏ç̶o̴͠͏'͡s̛ ̢͡͝C̢I̵͠A̴̛ ̶͏i̴͞ş́͜ ̷a̸̶͏b͟͡l̴e͢͏͟ t̡o͢ ḙ̡̞̻̖̹̝̳̮͚̥̘̙͈̬͕͇̗́n͏̨̬͔͍̠̪ͅf̸̸̘͍̗͎̱̹̖̺͜o̶̧̲̬̙̰̥̻̪͉̫͜͞ŕ̵̡̢̬̬͇̮̟c̶̡̦͔̙̱̮̥̫̝̹̯͙̺̥͈͖͍̭̝̀́͘è̶̡̯̲͚̞̱̱̬̫̤͙̰̞͚͟ ̶̢̠̝̦̙̝̫̘̹̬t̵͚͖̻̮̼̫̭̞̙̫͖͍͔̤̝͙̕̕h̷̬̝͚̜̮̞̩͡e̴̙͙͚͍͇̞͓͙̳̠̘̖͟ ̶҉͜҉̷̙̖̻̻̺ŗ̴̡̛͇͎̲̪͔͔̬̩̞̯̳͠e̷̷̡̛҉̜͓̰̲̳̬̮͚̻̞̥̼̦͉̪̻̼p͜҉͞҉̺͈̰̙̝̘͚͕͉̘͕͔͖u̷̝̻̰̦̯̙͔̦̣̠̫̹b̺̳̭̼̠̩͔̪̟́̀͟l̸̶̰͖̗̫͞͡į̸̵͝҉̩̦̯̪̩̹̬c̮͙̦̻̱͔̭͇̩̞̤̭̙̪͘͘͟'̶̪̙̤̹͓̦̳͔̼̯̮̭̣̜̦̪͜s̸̷̟͍̙͇̼͎͚̦͕̖̬̪̙͠ ̷̨͔̮̜̜̹̺̜̩̱̥͚̩͍̠̮̼͡͠ͅw̤͉̻̲̼͙̰̥̙̲͔̹̪̬͜ͅi͏͙̪̦̗̰̖͇͠l̛̥̣͕̝͚͓̙̪l̛̫͔̳̱̹̪͎̫̙̗̗͍̦ ̴̦̰̗͉̮̘̰̱͚̥͉̭͈́͟͠u̴̧̟͉̬̣̤̩̦̻͖̼̮̮̟̹̜ͅp̵̶̲̹̜̦̬͖̦̀̀o̝̝̦̠̳̯̙̘̕n͡͝͏̶̨͕̩̦̭͚̜̖͕̟͍͎̣̼̻̣͇̹ ̷̡͚̜̝͍̘͍͙̻̩̗͈̥̣̝̮̝

I was not. Since nothing historical survived, there is no way of saying what year it is outside of technology, which puts us anywhere from 2200 to 3000 AD.
Great game I really enjoyed it.

I guess that's more close to reality than the last game at least, where we had railguns and antimatter by the 1800s.
No! My glorious combining mech, gone in an instant!
Oh, well. Cheswick got rekt by MIGO and I escaped. Almost my whole country survived! Sons of Liberty win forever! Ahahahahahahaha!
Incidentally, I've been keeping track of every titan mech, and Cheswick had the most titan mech kills – in fact, it got all of the ones I'm aware of.

MIGO didn't go rogue or anything, that was actually my final turn where I just decided to go HAM.
• After crunching the numbers, MIGO comes to the conclusion that organic lifeforms are inferior to machines. In preparation for the war to come, MIGO uploads itself to a vast server network so that it can no longer be destroyed from a single point. In co-operation with AXIOM, the humans and cyborgs are allowed to leave the planet in mass exodus to Mars while the androids stay behind and begin to eradicate all organic life on the planet.
• MIGO offers to cooperate with Structure 1. Both share the goal of eradication of organic life (including the crabs) and Cheswick (now known simply as MIGO) has weaponry and technology which would be beneficial to Structure 1.
• Since the nation no longer needs to support a human population, all energy and resources are directed towards creating massive armies of androids. The androids begin a mass expansion of all territories, invading any adjacent human territory. This includes an assault the scale of which has never been seen on the colossal crab in cooperation with Structure 1.
• Since androids don’t need to worry about radiation, MIGO targets nuclear ICBMs at many targets (including the crab) before attacking with the android forces equipped with ray guns. MIGO also begins mass production of additional ICBMs to the point where they are a commonplace weapon in the arsenal.
• The Future: MIGO will continue fighting organic lifeforms until either all have been eradicated or MIGO is destroyed. The few humans which were not executed have been put in a state of suspended animation as an alternative source of energy for the android legions. MIGO has no intentions of leaving the planet so long as the humans do not interfere with it after the conquest.
As for the titan mechs, I killed two that I can remember. Laika's and yours.
i have the most achievements
nice
I have more achievements in this one than the previous one, I'm especially proud of the Zero to Hero one. Just as China falls my nation rises from the Apocalypse, claiming all of the would be territories that Japan would have claim in their empire in one turn and still having a mark on the world as the ends all while going to space.
I bought the world.
Now I'm stepping through the door…
It looked as though MIGO and Structure One were just about to go full Matrix with the body harvesting tact.
As a sci-fi fan I'd be more than willing to do a continuation of this set in space along the same lines as the one Syndic hosted a year or so ago. These nation roleplays are still one of the most entertaining aspects of the forum. Unfortunately I never had the time to do one myself.
If only I did.
This was fun. I'm looking forward to playing with you bunch again – I'll most likely join in if a new NatRP is posted, especially if it's made by Syndic.
I wouldn't mind having a space version of this. That way I can fully go into Eclipse Phase mode. This game was fun like the others. I will admit I kinda thought I was going to make a mistake on not accepting the opportunity on not becoming a great power but I was wrong. Being able to live up to my promise to build my faction from the ground up and soon not only did it took over Japan I also made transhumanism possible and took it to a level that no one else did. That made the game really fun for me.
