All of your allies are fine for manpower for the most part, but as I said before, none of them want a new war so soon after the last one ended.

Just as a reminder you put robotics twice which I'm guessing the one that is on 50% is Modern fleet since it was mention that Japan is now modernizing it's army with making a larger and modern fleet.

Its because I copied from the common techs and didn't delete all of the ones you already have. You don't have modern fleet, although Japan might, because you aren't the main faction of Japan. You also have a duplicate of rocketry. Thanks for pointing it out.
@Laika
The people of Hueynation have agreed to join your alliance.
@Sergeant Arch Dornan
Alright very good, the Empire is happy to have another ally by its side.
anyone want to start an anti-nuke treaty?

We will sign this treaty.
James Blunt wrote:

I'll sign as well, as long as it doesn't exclude nuclear power plants.
James Blunt wrote:

I may as well sign, although I don't see much of a point to it beyond a show of goodwill. With everything from mecha to psychic soldiers in play, it won't be long before nukes are outpaced as the most powerful weapons of war.

I'm still thinking about whether or not Ionia has anything to benefit from this alliance.
i guess ill stop wars with the aztecs and sign their peace treaty of oil
I believe that the anti-nuclear treatie should go one way or the other. Either…
Nobody has the technology to build such a weapon and if they currently are working towards it should stop.
or the tech is given to all major nations so we can have mutually assured destruction.
@Crow
I simply wished to trade and support your island nation.
If Japan and Ionia wish to remain alienated from Europe then I have no qualms
@Laika
Just to break character for a minute, mutually assured destruction only really works when there are actual stakes. Obviously since this is basically just a game we don't have any such stakes so I can guarantee the nukes would start flying regardless.
I think the best way to go about a nuclear treaty is to ban them outright. Any nation which attempts to develop nukes would be subject to attack from all other treaty members.
@Crimeariver
If you're signing the treaty, I'll expect you to hold yourself accountable if the Guild pursues such technology.

Agreed. Cheswick won't pursue anything more than nuclear power.
The Guild wishes to utilize power of the atom purely for scientific and energetic purposes.
@Crimeariver
>"just a game"
Is that what life is to you Crimeariver?
When you send your pioneers to lands thousands of miles from home just to set up mediocre colonies and they ask "what for?" is that what you tell them? "its just a game"?
When I've got families crying in the streets of my capital, mourning the losses of their loved ones, fathers and sons who fought bravely in the Imperial-Commonwealth wars…what do I tell them? "It's just a game?"
Men of valour, drowning at sea to find new lands…dying in the fields amongst the crack of gunfire and the clash of steel… being reduced to puss filled blobs because of vicious plagues…being slaughtered by the advance of the Khans or beheaded for the Sun God by the Aztecs, they may all rest in peace knowing that their ultimate sacrifice was laid down to simply perpetuate "a game"
You may not place value on the lives of your people or the land in which they live but I can assure that I do not have such a cold heart.
@Laika: If that is the case than Ionia will agree to the Central Empire's deal. We're not sure if Japan will follow suit but whether or not the Motherland wants agree to this alliance is up to them.
@Crimeariver: Ionia will not agree to the ban on nuclear power even though right now we are not pursuing it. For us the scientific research into the atomic world along with the power it can give to our cities outweighs the dangers.

I never said I wanted to ban nuclear power. I said I would sign the treaty as long as it didn't ban nuclear power.

As long as the ban only extends to nuclear weapons and nothing else then I may sign it.

Turn 8
Alliances
Northern Defensive Pact (Denmark, Cheswick, Central Empire, Genzodia)
Yuzco General Alliance (Yuzco, Cherokee, Omaha)
The Maghreb (Al-Andalus, Morocco, Tunis, Tlemcen)
Caribbean Defensive Pact (Hueynation, Carib, Seminole)
East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere (Ionia, Eyyiks, The Roses)
Comintern (Red Ruthenia, Crimea, Texas, Lithuania, Poland, Red Hanunah)
Baltic Federation (Novgorod, Lithuania, Poland)
Anti-Khorumid Coalition (Ayyubids, Saruhan, Georgia, Opus)
Axis Powers (Central Empire, Hueynation, Al-Andalus, Japan, Hungary)
From now on please specify which techs you will be stealing from the common tech pool. I do not want to parse through all of them every time you steal to find out which ones you have or don't have. That takes too much time. If you do not specify you will not get tech.
The World
Common Knowledge Tech: Gunpowder, Clipper Ships, Steam Power, Printing, Scientific Theory, Electricity, Vaccines, Rocketry, Rifling, Steam Aeroplanes, Robotics, Combustion, Mech Walker, Computer, Modern Fleet, Machine Guns, Railguns, Radio, Internet, Genetics, Nanorobotics
(You may steal these techs)
-Communists have been elected into office in Poland and Lithuania. Each in turn has successfully ousted all opposition and devised new constitutions, mirroring the one-party-state government in Red Ruthenia. They have joined the Comintern and jointly invaded Belarus as well.
-Following continuous wars, poor management, and a famine, the people of the central plains of Hanunah have risen into a violent revolution. Crow, Shoshone, Pawnee, and Omaha have been thrown into a violent civil war culminating with the murder of several royal families and the establishment of a communist state in the plains. To prevent total loss of royal lands, Sioux and Shawnee have occupied portions of the territory in a short war with the new state.
-Narthuria has invaded Ethiopia, taking over the country in a single decisive battle, seizing the palace and taking the royal family hostage.
Akash
The Crab (Taryn)
Tech: Gunpowder, Rocketry, Rocket Planes, Liquid Fuel, Electricity, Blast Pinwheel Engine, Lasercoms, Railguns, Genetics (90%), DNA Fabrication (20%), Biological Construction (50%)
-The science of biology has advanced by leaps and bounds. Alaskan scientists have discovered ways in which they can manipulate human DNA, augmenting newborns with immunities and capabilities beyond a typical human. Further advances have allowed more than just alteration, but the actual creation of unique life forms.
-An ancient prophecy describes the ascension of a giant crab from the ocean. Upon its back it is said to bear the entirety of Alaskan civilization, carying the nation to greatness. Not content to wait for this prophecy to fulfil itself and ambitious to see what they can do to legitimize their rule through biology, the Synod has constructed their own crab. Witnessing the beast's great power, they have made the radical decision of merging their bodies and minds with that of the crab, becoming singular with the great one.
-In awe of the Synod's enlightened decision, many of the nation's religious zealots have turned to genetic mutation to transform themselves into crab people as well.
-War is declared upon China. The Eyyiks are delivered an initial bombardment from orbit, followed by a land invasion of both traditional soldiers and crab warriors. The battles are almost exclusively won by Akash, granting them whatever they wish in the peace treaty, which demands the cession of Russia to Akash and the emancipation of Korea, Vietnam, Manchuria, and Iran.
-Crab soldiers, proving not to cooperate well with human soldiers due to the problem of eating them, have presented an issue to the military. Thanks to their incredible strength, rather than banning them from the armies, it has been declared that crab soldiers are the future of combat, and humans are now scheduled for gradual removal from the military.
Hueynation
Emmerich Dynasty (Sergeant Arch Dornan)
Tech: Clipper Ships, Gunpowder, Combat Armor, Steam Power, Maxi Bun Perfect Burger, Vaccines, Scientific Theory, Clipper Ships, Printing (80%), Electricity (70%), Rocketry, Rifling (90%), Steam Aeroplanes, Robotics (80%), Chemical Burger (40%), Mech Walker (40%), Machine Guns (40%), Railguns (30%), Metal Gear (30%)
-A giant mech, called "Metal Gear" has been designed for construction. The first design is called Metal Gear Zeke, and has been built in Angola.
-A second ocean platform base is built near the Angola colony.
-A veritable prophet of our time named Max Paxson has spoken out against the unholy abomination that is the android race. He and his followers have engaged in campaigns throughout Europe to create racism and distrust towards these metal men.
Monarchy of the Roses
Rose Dynasty (Tchefuncte Bonaparte)
Tech: Dirigibles, Gunpowder, Electricity, Printing, Radio (90%), Airships, Clipper Ships, Steam Power (90%), Printing, Scientific Theory, Vaccines, Rocketry, Rifling, Steam Aeroplanes, Computer (60%), Internet (30%)
-An information revolution is hitting the country as the internet, a vast network of communicating computers, brings the population in close contact across vast distances. Differences in culture from one side of the empire to the other have been reduced as a result.
-Malayan sushi, dramatically different compared to Japanese sushi due to culinary divergence over the centuries, is being now being sold in Japan. The people there do not associate it with their own sushi due to the differences, but it has become popular nonetheless.
Yuzco
High U-Love Party (Twisty)
Tech: Printing, Steam Power, Steam Aeroplanes, Vaccines, Digitization, Gunpowder, Clipper Ships, Scientific Theory, Electricity, Rocketry, Rifling, Combustion, Machine Guns (60%), Oil Planes
-The Central Intelligence Agency, or C.I.A. is created to gather intelligence, conduct espionage, and defend Yuzco's international interests. The first mission of the CIA has been to incite unrest in Mexico, where much success has been had. Revolutionaries, funded by Yuzco, have caused a significant stir. Communist agitators from the north, witnessing the growing powder keg, moved in to capitalize on the situation by infusing it with ideology. Soon Mexico was being crippled by waves of communist rebellions, forcing them to pull their armies away from the northern frontier. In the wake of this retreat a new communist state has been formed.
-The military is overhauled from the ground up, reorganized into new divisions and regiments. The new structure has implemented the use of combined arms tactics, among other modern ideas. Foreign officers have been brought in to train Yuzco's troops in the latest battlefield techniques.
-Texas had proven to be a massive boon to the economy, being well-endowed with oil. With the loss of Texas to communist insurgents, the Aztec oil rights are much less valuable. This has come at a crucially bad time, as peak oil has just been reached in Yuzco, and imports are now crucial to maintaining the economy. Corporate interests in the oil industry are spearheading a campaign to invade Texas and establish a colony or puppet regime in the area.
-The defensive pact with the monarchies is dissolved after the loss of several members to communist uprisings and the reduced apparent threat that the Aztecs now present.
Central Empire
Strength of Will Party (Laika)
Tech: Steam Power, Gunpowder, Rifling, Cryptoneurology, Telepathy, Electricity, Tesla Weaponry, Clipper Ships (90%), Scientific Theory (60%), Vaccines (80%), Rocketry (60%), Steam Aeroplanes, Robotics (80%), Combustion (80%), Machine Guns (50%), Railguns (30%), Tanks (20%)
-Railguns are developed, pointed towards the sky with the primary concern being the destruction of satellites. Goodness knows why.
-Psyker agents are sent to Austria and Bohemia to infiltrate the administration in each country. The leaders bow to Central Empire demands to heavy protests from their citizens. The Austrians react harshly by burning Haglaz shrines across the country and the majority of the Bohemian army has defected, establishing a fascist junta and putting to death the former leadership. To prevent future incursions, the Bohemians have employed psykers of their own as bodyguards to all state officials.
-The nation's industry is pitched towards military production, resulting in the military expanding far beyond double the size allowed by the demilitarization treaty. Unfortunately for those who might protest, the Jagiellons are now dead, and so most consider the treaty null.
-Part of the major re-militarization program has been the development of mobile armored units, called tanks, and the development of a theoretical school of combat known as Blitzkrieg.
-Now that the Empire is functional and secure once again, Al-Andalus has done as promised and joined in alliance. Japan, suddenly looking to expand its diplomatic influence globally, has also taken up the offer.
Cheswick
The Council of Cheswick (Crimeariver)
Tech: Gunpowder, Steam Power, Scientific Theory, Vaccines, Rifling, Clipper Ships, Printing, Electricity, Rocketry, Steam Aeroplanes, Combustion, Radio, Radar, Robotics (60%), Computer (40%), Modern Fleet (40%), Androids (80%), Satellites (40%), Nuclear Power (30%)
-Public education is expanded to include colleges and universities and graduating students are encouraged to continue their studies. This has cut back on unemployment by turning large sections of the population into permanent students. Furthermore, it is increasing the quantity of people employed in high-education fields, such as doctors and engineers, lowering the pay for these kinds of jobs. As a result, people are earning (and thus spending) drastically less money than before, causing the economy to spiral into a depression.
-Vastly increased military spending has assuaged the depression somewhat. It is said that the only job worth having now is as a soldier.
-Hueynation propaganda has encouraged the people to go on a religious crusade against androids. Fortunately, they are not taken very seriously, and cause very little unrest due to their Black Sunnist religious bent.
-Satellites are put into orbit from launch pads in Africa, saving on fuel costs by launching from the equator. GPS navigation is now possible for the fleets, potentially improving combat ability.
-Developed at Central Guild laboratories, the first nuclear reactors are now online. Large scale reactors are being placed on ships and in power plants to make fuel and energy, respectively, less of a concern.
-The military is turned to focus on defensive positions in India.
-Building ocean platforms is all the rage with you kids these days. Cheswick constructs on just off the coast of a Seychelles island, calling it Outer Haven.
The Central Guild (Triangle Mare)
Tech: Steam Power, Scientific Theory, Gunpowder, Chemistry, Metallurgy, Electricity, Steam Train, Computer, Radio, Radar (80%), Modern Fleet (90%), Atomic Science, Internet (60%), Nanorobotics (60%)
-The guild has put to use a new development, the internet, in its military. It soon proves to have significant potential on the civilian market, and has become a huge boon to the Guild, keeping its various posts connected and informed.
-Robotics has been nearly perfected as a science to the point that extreme miniaturization is now possible.
-The huge cash reserves of the guild are being put to good use developing infrastructure wherever the guild is involved around the globe. Of course, none of the new structures ever go into public hands, instead remaining private assets of the guild. Rents, electrical bills, and various other new sources of income have flooded the guild's coffers due to this project.
-The fleet is vastly expanded with super-freighters, oceanic refueling platforms, and new "escort" ships of the latest military design.
-A World Exposition is held. Inventors and engineers from the world over visit Cheswick to put on display their ingenuity. Most of all, though, the convention has served to bring more of the world's intellectuals into the Guild's service.
New Ireland
Sons of Liberty (Snickerway)
Tech: Steam Power, Gunpowder, Ironclads, Geothermal Energy, Heat Resistant Materials (80%), Clipper Ships (50%), Scientific Theory (80%), Electricity (40%), Vaccines (70%), Rocketry (90%), Rifling (70%), Steam Aeroplanes (70%), Robotics (70%), Combustion (70%), Mech Walker (70%), Energy Shielding (40%), Internet (20%)
-Immigrants from Ireland, so attracted to the Africa colony, have managed to pull the entire island closer.
-The constitution is accepted and ratified, turning New Ireland into a republic. There are no opposition parties as of yet, but elections are held and new representatives have brought fresh ideas and unfamiliar faces to the party.
-Energy shielding, allowing electrical energy to be transferred into armoring capability, is invented.
-A task force of mechs is outfitted with airtight designs and jetpacks to make them capable of survival in space. How they will get there, though, is anybody's guess.
Khorumid
Eyyik Dynasty (You Are Reading This)
Tech: Gunpowder, Steam Power, Printing, Clipper Ships (90%), Scientific Theory, Electricity, Vaccines, Rocketry , Rifling (80%), Steam Aeroplanes, Rocket Artillery (80%), Modern Fleet (60%), Genetics (20%), Railguns (50%)
-Geneticists have devised a new type of spider, a hybrid between the bug and a horse, which has proven to be a horror beyond words. its silk, however, is very useful in bulletproof armor construction. For some reason.
-Manchuria is integrated into the empire. Tibet is corrupted with a bureaucracy enforced upon them, effectively annexing that region as well.
-Japan is invaded again, this time slightly more successfully. The Japanese navy was kept at bay as Chinese armies swarmed the beaches, eventually occupying vast swaths of Honshu. However, a timely declaration of war and orbital bombardment from Akash has sent the entire war into disarray. Supply lines were cut, armies were entrapped and destroyed, and the entire machinery of war ground to a halt. The Japanese were unable to claim much in the peace treaty, but the Akash annexed west Russia and demanded the release of several states, including the recently annexed Manchuria.
-In the aftermath of the war it was decided that Akash orbital bombardment needed to be prevented in the future. Railguns were designed to that purpose, for the task of shooting down satellites.
Japan
The City of Ionia (CrowTheMagician)
Tech: Printing, Gunpowder, Steam Engine, Steam Aeroplanes, Electricity, Scientific Theory, Robotics, Vaccines, Rifling, Rocketry, Combustion (70%), Clipper Ships (60%), Printing (70%), Scientific Theory (50%), Mech Walkers (20%), Robotics (20%), Nanorobotics (60%), Modern Fleet (60%)
-A city constitution is written up, guaranteeing a wide and diverse amount of equal rights to people of all walks of life.
-A new judicial system is also established, ringing a new and better form of justice to the city.
-A universal healthcare system is also established for the people of the city.
-A giant battleship, the likes of which the world has never seen, is commissioned. Called the Yamato, it is meant to be a dedication to the Emperor. He appreciates the offer. In fact, he enjoys the contribution so much, that he threw out the memorandum regarding his disappointment in Ionia's recent governmental changes.
Metal Gear ZEKE, the pinnacle of Hueynation warfare.
Edit: Crimea, Outer Haven was the giant submarine with Mount Snakemore, not the military base.

Can I retroactively change the name of the platform to Outer Limbo?
Also I totally didn't even realize that Ireland up and left. Shows how much I care about the island I guess.

While one can see the approximate power of a country by map, you can't see economical capability. So, I'd like to ask – how much assets does the Guild own, approximately?
Shooting those satellites down is the last thing you want to do, Laika. The Crab strongly suggests that you don't.
The storm is gathering and now it's time for conquest, with the red tide sweeping through Europe we are forced to liberate these sorry nations from their exploitive oligarchical leaders.
Europe is the trophy of Earth and we will seize it for ourselves.

The Party is more than happy to see that Al-Andalus has joined the faction. As the time is nigh we call on them to launch a major coastal invasion of Italy, the Empire will provide minimal support in this effort as its armed forces will be operating primarily to the East. If the Italy collapses it is to be annexed by the Empire. Their passiveness and refusal to help is now in the zone of betrayal, it won't be long before they fall to the influence of the Comintern.
The Empire is happy to see that Hungary is at their side once more. They are advised to sit tight, not to attack and reinforce their borders.
I call on Japan to take action now if they are in position to do so, after the attempted invasion the Empire will do everything in its power to provide support if Japan wishes to retaliate. Although it expects support in return.
Along with these diplomatic actions I provide all Axis members with the railgun technology.
@Crow,
As we are now allied we peacefully request the modern fleet technology so that we can bring our navy up to standard.
@Triangle Mare
Your personal gain and profiteering greatly outweighs the benefits you bring to our borders. You horde your coffers and give nothing back to the public thus only filling your own pockets and leaving them in the gutter. This mode of operation conflicts almost head on with the party and the people and the selfishness displayed is reflective of the Comintern inner circles.
I'm afraid that your operations within our borders must cease and Amsterdam vacated.
@Taryn
The Empires railguns are a deterrent against an otherwise invincible weapon. Developing such counter-weapons is simply the natural evolution of an effective defence.
I wish nothing of Japan now. A greater threat has emerged, and I have no interest in the Japanese. You needn't worry about a third invasion at this time.

Within Cheswick, the guild has a stranglehold over a majority of the economy, especially in the colonies. 99% of Peru is owned by the guild, where it exerts the majority of its control. In the Africa and India colonies the Guild owns a majority of businesses, but not nearly as much as in Peru. Within Britain the Guild does not own a majority of businesses, but does exert considerable influence on the economy due to near exclusive control of imports to the isles. If a company is not owned by the Guild, it can be said with certainty that the materials they work with or the products they sell were at some point sold to them by the Guild.
Outside of Cheswick territories, the Guild is similarly powerful commercially. As noted before, more than half of all global shipping is handled by the Guild, and the Guild's free cities greatly facilitate this freight domination. This amount has peaked, however, and is declining with the rise of global socialism. Fascist and Communist governments alike are incompatible with Guild aspirations, the former seeking to have all independent businesses owned by individuals within their country and the latter seeking to do away with private enterprise altogether. Guild outposts in the Baltic, for instance, will very soon be seized by the local governments if something is not done to prevent it.

The Sultan agrees, but would like to keep whatever territories that his armies conquer in Italy. Furthermore, he has devised a plot to unify the Maghreb under Andalucia, but would like Imperial air support and psyker assistance to pull it off. In exchange for these two points, he has pledged to support Imperial ambitions to conquer the east, promising to send the full force of his armies to support cession of Ruthenia to the Empire.

The Empire claims the land above the blue line,
I will provide the assistance which they have requested. I understand that it will take this turn to seize Italy and deal with Al-Andalus's issues before dedicating full power to the East.
