Map

Legend

NEW CITIES will be added to the map gradually if you have conquered land in an area vacant of cities and it becomes developed enough. Some areas are already at maximum density and will never see new cities, as I do not want to over-crowd the map. Do not attempt to build cities, as this expansion will happen naturally. You can, however, attempt to promote the appearance of major cities by sending settlers and improving the land with state funding. Don't expect to see cities at the same density everywhere; some areas just aren't predisposed to have many urban settlements.

Txabesco (KYFPMM)

Defense Forces: Mixed Arms Warriors, Skirmisher Warbands, Light Cavalry, Galleys

Doctrines: Egalitarianism, Mandatory Service, Free Trade

Culture: Pacifists, Alcohol Aficionados, Fish Fanatics

Issues: None

-The army is renamed the National Self-Defense Force to honor the pacifistic nature of Txabesco. A naval attachment of galleys has been constructed to complement this defense effort and the city walls in various major cities are made thicker and taller.

-Military creativity is encouraged through the use of unique, designer weapons. This has resulted in the organization of several disorganized troops, with each component soldier having vastly different equipment from his comrades.

-Prostitution is made legal, if it was not before, and taxes are raised upon the practice.

-Tariffs are lowered, encouraging the establishment of major trade links with many of Txabesco's neighboring city states.

Syraus (Stalemate)

Military: Swordsmen, Spear Warbands, Light Cavalry

Doctrines: Egalitarianism, Inquisition

Culture: None

Issues: None

-The armies are commanded to remove themselves from the Grezny hinterland, allowing the city to fall to Orobostan.

-Unitology missionaries are deported and their faith is declared heresy. To root out members of this faith so that they may be driven home, an inquisition bureau is established.

-The capital and the eastern border are fortified.

-The military is revitalized with the issuing of standard swords and shields.

Orobostan (ProfessorRivers)

Military: Jaguar Infantry, Skirmisher Warbands, Camel Riders, Galleys

Doctrines: None

Culture: Pacifism

Issues: Albadi war (imminent victory), Unitology Missions

-The Grezny war is fought to completion. The city succumbs to starvation and surrenders, ending the siege.

-Upon the fall of Grezny the army continues moving east, besieging Albadi.

-A new division of soldiers trained in jungle fighting, the Jaguar soldiers, has been created for the armies. They are sent north, into the jungles of Blarion, to subjugate the local peoples.

-The paving of roads across the empire is funded. A few foreign trade routes are established as well.

-Unitology missionaries are spreading the word of their faith across the country. These preachers are being attacked by the public for disrupting public order and causing famines and natural disasters due to their disrespect for the old gods. However, many people are attracted to the religion for the feeling of community and unity that it provides.

Onvast (Roarshack)

Military: Light Infantry, Archers, Galleys

Doctrines: None

Culture: None

Issues: None

-Nothing happens.

Ambrosia (Triangle Mare)

Military: Pike Phalanxes, Swordsmen, Archers, Cavalry, Engineer Corps, Galleys

Doctrines: Mandatory Service, Structured Military, Egalitarianism, Meritocracy

Culture: Seafarers

Issues: None

-Meritocratic promotions are foisted upon the military, forcing generals to issue promotions to soldiers who display real leadership skills, rather than handing over positions to their friends and family.

-An engineer corps is established with standardized courses in catapult and bridge construction. This greatly bolsters the speed of the armies as well as their ability to rapidly put a siege into effect.

-A new road network is laid out and mapped for easy logistics for both trade and the military. Sea routes are similarly mapped and new lighthouses are constructed to help ships along their way in treacherous waters.

-Several of the neighboring city states are offered civilization. Tabriz and Aznarkand, either through intimidation or genuine interest, accept the offer, citing the republican values of Ambrosia as particularly welcoming. They are allowed to keep most of their autonomy initially, paying only small taxes and providing military levies.

-The siege of Rasht ends with a storming of the battlements and a taking of the city, which is sacked in the process. Upon this victory the armies are sent out into the countryside, where they are put to work subjugating the local population and building a highway.

-An army is sent to Samalut, where they easily breach the defenses and take the city.

-Another army is sent north to Trinidad, but is routed at the northern edge of the desert by an army led by the defenders. The Trinidadian army presses its success, marching as far south as Eindhoven. Camel riders raid the countryside and pillage many towns and villages before returning home with their loot.

Suiyektu (You Are Reading This)

Military: Engineer Corps, Heavy Cavalry, Cavalry Archers, Longboats

Doctrines: Mercantilism, Meritocracy

Culture: Free Enterprise, Horse Husbandry

Issues: Yykai war (imminent victory)

-Better mounts are bred through intensive eugenics programs started by ranchers to meet demands for hardier mounts.

-Galleys are scuttled or sold, being replaced in the navy by longboats, which are deemed to be superior vessels.

-The hordes ride east and west, conquering huge swaths of land. Myushyin falls readily and without much trouble, but Yykai is holding out in a siege. It is possible that the Roses may even take Yykai first, as they are also attacking it from the east.

-An official engineer corps is established and attached to the armies for easier construction of catapults, rams, towers, and other engines during sieges.

-A meritocracy is declared, making it slightly more difficult to rise in society through family connections alone. The army is now better led, as experienced soldiers rather than privileged nobles lead the smaller hordes.

Narthuria (Spider-Byte)

Military: Heavy Pike Phalanxes, Heavy Cavalry, Cavalry Archers

Doctrines: Public Investment, Penal Army

Culture: Knights Tharos

Issues: None

-The alphabet is codified, making learning and reading between regions easier, now that everyone is on the same standard. This has led to the flourishing of math, science, and philosophy, as well as some of the lesser arts such as alchemy and astrology.

-The armies are reorganized, replacing foot archers with mobile counterparts and equipping most foot soldiers with long pikes alongside their traditional swords.

-A penal army is established called The Hand of Redemption. Service in this corps is given as an option of criminals, rather than spending time in jail. Most take up the offer, expecting gold and glory, but instead are simply put to hard labor and abuse by their officers. Such is the life of criminal scum.

-A king named Arthirs took up the sword himself, leading the armies east. His leadership proves spectacular, and his name quickly becomes one of legendary stature as he more than doubles the size of the kingdom.

Divus (Taryn)

Military: Pike Phalanxes, Archers, Galleys

Doctrines: National Orgies

Culture: Crab Cruelty, Stellar Surveyors, Tower of Babel (under construction), Sunnism (religion)

Issues: Abortion Crisis

-An unnamed hero has declared war upon crabkind. He, along with a plucky band of volunteers, has marched west into the desert, where he died of dehydration.

-Airbags are enlarged and workers are instructed not to exhale into them this time. A few intelligent young men follow these instructions and survive high enough to build a bit more onto the tower.

-The king has become paranoid about people dying in his realm. He declares death as treason, and commands the establishment of several new annual city-wide orgies for the creation of new youths that might replace the traitors. This has had the undesired effect of causing many women who would rather not be mothers to abandon or murder their newborn children.

-The Sun Pope is declared the only true authority in religion. All lesser gods are removed from the pantheon, and Sunnism is made the new national religion.

Striate (Owen, The Communist Tree)

Military: Axemen, Longbowmen, Galleys

Doctrines: Mandatory Service

Culture: Militant Patriotism

Issues: Unitology Missions

-The officer famous for taking Babica is sent to do the same in Perla Est. Once again he finds miraculous success, and the city falls without any kind of trouble.

-Trade routes are mandated to be established with the neighbors.

-A law requiring mandatory military service is passed, significantly increasing the manpower pool available to garrisons and armies.

-Investments are made into mining and many new mines are opened throughout the mountains in the north.

-Unitology preachers have established missions throughout the country and are steadily spreading the word of their faith. Local elites are upset by this development, preferring to worship the old gods, and are calling for the removal of these interlopers.

Egypt (A Tiny, Tiny, Smug Commander)

Military: Light Infantry, Cavalry Skirmishers

Doctrines: None

Culture: None

Issues: None

-Nothing happens.

Kathian (Twisty)

Military: Zealot Brigades, Heavy Cavalry

Doctrines: Missionary Warriors, Mercantilism

Culture: Perfectionists, Xenophobia, Kruztatlism (religion)

Issues: None

-A national infrastructure program commits to the construction of new highways and inner-city roads.

-Military academies are opened to train the mobs which make up the armies, reforming them into something more organized. Warriors trained at these schools are commanded never to harm civilians, and are instead taught to convert them to the faith.

-The state has taken significant interest in the comings and goings of merchants, marking certain ports and markets specifically for the use of foreigners to better control imports.

-Item has fallen to the attackers and is now part of the Kathian domain.

Sprawl (Sergeant Arch Dornan)

Military: Zealot Halberdiers, Light Cavalry, Camel Riders, Galleys

Doctrines: None

Culture: Alien Admiration, Unitology (religion)

Issues: Aegis War (going poorly)

-Bismuth is mined to create Unitology idols and monoliths resembling the Marker.

-Galleys are gifted to missionaries to help them spread the word further than Syraus, which has banned their entry. Missions have been established in Orobostan, Striate, Hessaria, and even as far away as Carim.

-The army is restructured around the use of polearms and religious zealotry. Camels are also added to the ranks of the cavalry to help traverse the most arid regions of the empire.

-Armies are sent to conquer the independent cities of Dione and Aegis. The attack on Dione is a success, and the city leadership is massacred during the exceptionally violent sacking of the city. Aegis, being in a much better defended location, proves very difficult to even besiege. It has been cut off by land, but their fleet has succeeded in rebuffing every attempt to establish a blockade, meaning that they can continue shipping in supplies and survive while at war indefinitely.

-The bureaucracy, considered heretical and corrupt, is reformed to follow the tenets of Unitology more strictly. The government, already a theocracy of Unitology, deems itself exempt from such reform.

Vilanoa (Cale)

Military: Pike Phalanxes, Light Cavalry, Cavalry Archers

Doctrines: Law Codes, Production Subsidies

Culture: Xenophobia

Issues: War Hawks

-A strict set of guidelines, complete with measures against loopholes and insubordination, is written up and published in every town forum across the country. The laws cover the basic crimes but, most importantly, they set standard punishments for these crimes which cannot be deviated from by local judges.

-A great library is constructed in the capital for the nation's elite to study at.

-Canals, dams, and tributaries are constructed to keep the farms and ranches across the empire well stocked with fresh water.

-Subsidies are given out to workshops and markets to improve domestic production.

-Trade is established with a few neighboring city states, although it does not flourish due to rampant xenophobia on both sides. Some senators are calling for conquests rather than cordial trade, and cite these failed attempts at commerce as evidence enough that foreigners are useless except under the yoke of oppression.

Monarchy of the Roses (Tchefuncte Bonaparte)

Military: Spear Warbands, Light Cavalry, Galleys

Doctrines: Egalitarianism

Culture: Tulip Traffickers, Rose Retailers, Pyramids

Issues: Yykai war (imminent victory)

-Roses are now also cultivated and sold.

-Women are given citizenship as part of a grand egalitarian reform.

-The Roses have begun construction on THE PYRAMIDS.

-The armies are sent forth to conquer the western frontier. They do so with adequate ability. Yykai is put under siege, although it is possible that the Suiyektu armies may seize the city first.

Orientale (Starscream)

Military: Spear Warbands, Archers, Ballistae, Galleys

Doctrines: None

Culture: Christianity (religion)

Issues: None

-A creative philosopher has created something of a steam engine, called the aeolipile. However, absolutely nothing comes of it, and it proves only to be a mere curiosity that is just as quickly forgotten by history.

-The ballista is invented as mathematics and engineering continue to improve and spit out new inventions. Militarists are eager to see what niche the new weapon can fill on the battlefield.

-A navy is formally established and filled with new galleys.

-The capital city is heavily fortified.

-Something called a 'heat ray' is toyed with by engineers, using several massive mirrors to direct the light of the sun at a somewhat distant wooden target to light it on fire. Whether the ray works or not is debatable, as the experiment results were tampered with to make the project's funding seem justifiable. Regardless, it is entirely unfeasible as an offensive weapon due to the size of the apparatus, which would be better used for defending harbors against flammable wooden ships.

Cuba (Major Bummer)

Military:Swordsmen, Pikemen, Archers, Galleys

Doctrines: None

Culture: Fish Fanatics

Issues: None

-The army is reorganized into regiments based on weapon type.

-Fishing is encouraged and the fertile waters of Cuba prove to be teeming with catch. The primary food in the Cuban diet is now fish.

-Armies are sent west and south. The city of Trinidad is encountered with its armies away and its gates untended, and so the opportunity is seized. The city falls in a matter of weeks. The Trinidadian army returns from its conquests in the south and besieges their home, but soon surrender and disband into the fields as the attack becomes hopeless when Cuban reinforcements arrive.

Zaris (Tyranid Warrior)

Military: Heavy Infantry, Galleys

Doctrines: Inquisition

Culture: Engineer Exaltation, Nature Negation, Mechanarianism (religion)

Issues: None

-An office of the inquisition is established to keep the foreign heathens out of Zaris.

-The southern mountains are mined for ores, and any findings are immediately appropriated for military use in the making of new weapons and armor.

Korea (Chewybunny)

Military: Light Infantry, Galleys

Doctrines: None

Culture: None

Issues: None

-Nothing happens.

Fittaland (RocketPropelledPanda)

Military: Spearmen, Crossbowmen, Galleys

Doctrines: Patrician Corporatism

Culture: Materialists, Blood Sports, Atheism, Adapted Apes

Issues: None

-A road network is laid out in the less difficult terrain, but across the jungles it proves nearly impossible to organize wide avenues, and so the project is largely put to the side for now. This project has also spawned maps of the empire, which also help greatly in keeping people informed of how to get places.

-The crossbow, a marvel of engineering, is invented and put to use in the armies.

-A fleet of galleys is constructed.

-Giant lizards are abducted from the jungles and put into the fighting pits to keep the masses entertained.

-New Khanye is attacked, but the invasion turns into a disaster as the entire army is annihilated in a spectacular route. Survivors blame a diverse set of reasons for failure, including an inept commander, adverse weather, plague, and the wrath of the gods.

Carim (CrowTheMagician)

Military: Assassin Warriors, Lightning Cavalry, Crossbowmen, Engineers, Longboats

Doctrines: Mercantilism

Culture: Gothic, Olympians, Egalitarianism, Occult Studies, Empire of Bliss

Issues: Unitology Missions

-An influx of missionaries from faraway Sprawl are propagating their faith in Carim. Although they are small in number, they are causing unrest wherever they go, upsetting the conservative locals who blame crop failures on the heathens.

-Lumina Cloth finally falls to the invader.

-A group of longboats travel far to the east. They land on a foreign shore in a land of rolling plains, edged by high mountains and a dense jungle. The explorers report that there is absolutely nothing of value and very few natives to contend with, and so they return home without having gained anything of value.

-The crossbow is invented and implemented in several archer units in the armies. Other feats of engineering, such as catapults and siege towers, are archived in blueprint form so that engineers can more easily construct them at the site of a siege.

-Mercantilism is adopted. The state takes full control over all foreign trade while guaranteeing free trade within Carim's borders.

-Interests in the magical and mysterious are fundamental to the people of Carim. They believe strongly in voodoo, precognition, and cosmic destinies.

-The cultural renaissance continues with the advent of new musical forms, expansion of theatrical entertainment, and the establishment of national festivals and holidays. Carim has gained a reputation across the islands as the "party empire," although native Carimites tend to see themselves as philosophers of bliss.

Hessaria (Black Graphic T)

Military: Heavy Infantry, Archers, Galleys

Doctrines: Mandatory Service

Culture: Dragon Detractors, Seafarers

Issues: Unitology Missions, Mistralva war (imminent victory)

-Unitology missionaries from Sprawl have begun showing up in droves, working diligently to convert the population. Hardliner conservatives are calling for their removal or even execution, claiming that these interlopers are disrupting the very fabric of an orderly society.

-Mistralva is attacked and besieged. The city is successfully surrounded and cut off from the outside world, and should fall soon. As part of this campaign, the southern islands are finally conquered.

-Silver plating is applied to the armor of the most elite soldiers, members of the "Silver Guard" in direct service to the king.

-Trade is encouraged on the high seas with neighboring countries. Carim has proven difficult in this regard with their adoption of mercantilism, which is giving them the upper hand in every trade deal. The merchants of Hessaria are calling for an end to Carimite mercantilism to level the playing field.

Doon (Laud Piestrings)

Military: Halberdiers, Light Cavalry, Galleys

Doctrines: Bill of Rights

Culture: Bear Beholders, Educators, Welfare, Wall Builders

Issues: Grisht war (imminent victory)

-The Ursan hinterland is returned to the city and the armies are removed from the area.

-Grisht finally falls. The army moves in and bolsters the cities defenses, building up its walls. The commander of the guard promises "We're gonna build a wall, and we're gonna make Grisht pay for it!" The people of Sera feel safe in the knowledge that their frontiers are safely guarded.

-The polearm is made the primary weapon of the armies.

-Educators across the country are encouraged to take up military science and tactics. A bit of each is now integral to any curriculum.

-A place for trade posts is set up at the heart of every harbor, ensuring merchants access to the best land for warehouses and shops.

-A road network is established, connecting the major cities of Doon.

-The senate has come to replace the king as the governing body of the state, gradually transforming the kingdom into a republic. Eventually even the king is forgotten, fading out of importance as a minor noble.

-Agriculture and irrigation is improved with the construction of canals and aqueducts. Access to fresh water for the cities is made more efficient through this measure as well, increasing population growth there.

-A fleet of galleys is commissioned and a series of walls and towers are constructed in and around major harbors for defense.

Japan (ShiJo)

Military: Heavy Infantry, Archers

Doctrines: Mandatory Schooling, Meritocracy

Culture: None

Issues: None

-Niigata and Kagoshima have fallen and the surrounding lands are finally added to the empire. An army is sent to the northeast, conquering land there. A local city, Kirisame, has been elevated to a higher status to govern the region.

-Primary schooling is made mandatory for all city dwellers who can afford it, with punishment for delinquency being exile from the cities to a farm or mandatory service in the military. Studies are directed towards arithmetic, tactics, physics, and cultural studies.

-A meritocracy is mandated, with specialized tests being used to discern who among the nation's population is fit to climb the social hierarchy. Among these intellectuals several are chosen to govern the nation and a senate is established. After failing to pass the imperial examination, the king is dethroned and humiliated, placed in exile outside the capital.

-Prisoners captured during the war are put to use as human guinea pigs to advance medical knowledge. A working theory has been developed regarding the transference of disease, helping Japan forestall any future plagues and use plague as a rudimentary tool of biological warfare.

-National infrastructure is revitalized with significant investments directed at the construction of sewer systems, mills, horse and dog ranches, and irrigation systems. Husbandry experiments are also funded for the breeding of superior animals and crops.

If this were real, there'd be no cooperation period. Common language and negotiations never really happened. It was just tribalism in different scales, and with nothing but weirdo internal logic.

That might be true in an earlier period, but actually, all of the countries in this game at the present are roughly the size of the Roman Republic at its peak, and have a similar level of administration and knowledge at their disposal. Just as the Romans signed treaties with their neighbors, so too can your country. You have access to translators and diplomatic corps just like they did.

Becuase I have no where to put it but I'd like to post it up for flavor texts, The Religion of Hessaria, in one digestible paragraph.

The Hessarians believe themselves to be in what they call the "Age of Embers". The age began with the end of the "Age of Flames" which marked what they see as a Golden Age. And the end began with the destruction of their homeland, which came when the very ground itself erupted into fire and ash, killing all but a few costal cities within a day and leaving barely a night to set sail before the fires came for them as well. This event they call the Fires End, and they believe was caused by Dragons, and their patron deity, Balerath the Grey, god of fire and earth, who not only consumed their home continent, but all of their other gods, their magic, and the very souls and spirits, before being consumed by his own flames and greed. In this regard, The Hessarians have no gods, and instead believe that they will make a new afterlife by protecting the spirits of their dead and laying them to rest in a new sacred place, Dragon's Rest, where they will be safe from the fires and ash of the world. Hessarians believe that while Balerath died, his children live on, and that they and all other living beings have a duty to hunt down and kill any Dragons of Dragon Spawn, lest the age of embers become the age of ash, and nothing of this world remains.

((OOC: A Volcano wiped out their lands and killed everyone inland, and pretty much wiped out their entire civilization. They think dragons are real, despite having no evidence that they are, and are fanatical in killing them, despite them not existing. I have no idea what to call them religiously, because while they believe in an afterlife and in gods, they think gods don't exist anymore, and that when you die you basically get to live in Old Hessaria, before the Fires End)))

The Ambrosian Republic offers Doon and Orientale a project that would connect their road systems, thus strengthening the bonds between the fellow Republics and bolstering trade revenue between the countries. It would also involve lowering of the tariffs on goods transported from one country to another.

Defense Forces: Swordsmen, Skirmisher Warbands, Light Cavalry, Rocket Galleys

Doctrines: Egalitarianism, Mandatory Service, Free Trade

Culture: Pacifists, Alcohol Aficionados, Fish Fanatics

Issues: None

-Nation-wide tournaments are held to determine the best weapons for combat. Turns out it's the sword. Who knew?

-Black powder rockets, previously only used for fireworks, are now being utilized by the navy as an experimental defensive weapon for lighting enemy ships aflame.

-A minimum wage is established and gradually raised to reduce the stratification of the social hierarchy among wage-slaves.

-Grants are given out to promising students, allowing the education system to accept the intelligent poor.

-Star charts are aiding the expansion of fishing domains further out to sea.

Syraus (Stalemate)

Military: Swordsmen, Spear Warbands, Light Cavalry, Galleys

Doctrines: Egalitarianism, Inquisition

Culture: Teachers, Entertainers

Issues: None

-A fleet of galleys is constructed. A national road network goes into operation as well.

-An education system, run by a central curriculum comittee, is established for the whole nation.

-Syndicated entertainment districts are being established with state grants to keep the people pacified.

-A strip of land is claimed to the north, along the jungled coasts. Few people really want to live in this hot, wet, heavily forested region. It seems mostly for savages, and there are few lands suitable for the traditional Syrausian lifestyle of farming and grazing.

Orobostan (ProfessorRivers)

Military: Jaguar Infantry, Skirmisher Warbands, Camel Riders, Galleys

Doctrines: Egalitarianism, Inquisition, Meritocracy, Spies

Culture: Militant Patriotism

Issues: War Hawks

-A camel trade is established with Syraus, which breeds inferior camels in smaller quantities. Profits are had.

-Albadi is finally conquered.

-An organization is established to conduct espionage. They train their agents to be experts in assassination, sabotage, and intelligence.

-Unitology is outlawed. Missions are deported and converts are executed. This purge has completely wiped out the faith within Orobostan's borders.

-The pacifist tendencies of the old republic are dying off as a wave of militancy spreads across the country. A group of particularly bloodthirsty senators are not quite sated by the purge within Orobostan's borders, and are calling for a conquest of Unitology lands to remove the heathens from the earth entirely.

-A new, egalitarian system of education is established. Men and women of all races may partake in a national examination system, based upon a set curriculum, to evaluate their worth to society in a variety of fields.

-Ashkan and Grezny are further fortified with larger garrisons and new moats.

Onvast (Roarshack)

Military: Light Infantry, Archers, Galleys

Doctrines: None

Culture: Merchants

Issues: None

-The army is sent north to conquer Grechenstein. Although they have some trouble marching through the mountains, they manage to take the city easily enough.

-The production of large trade ships has become a well-practiced art, giving much of the coastal population employment in some manner through the drydocks.

Ambrosia (Triangle Mare)

Military: Pike Square, Swordsmen, Archers, Cavalry, Engineer Corps, Galleys

Doctrines: Mandatory Service, Structured Military, Egalitarianism, Meritocracy, Spies

Culture: Seafarers, Militarists, Diplomats

Issues: None

-Military professionalism is further enforced upon the population with the opening of new, mandatory schools and regular national drills. In addition to military training, students are also obliged to learn secondary languages, considerably expanding the nation's ability to engage in small scale diplomacy.

-A bureau of spies is established for both foreign and domestic espionage.

-Diplomatic means are utilized in colonizing the western deserts. Trade links and tribute are used to pitch local tribes against each other and form strong alliances, which later lead to integration with Ambrosia.

-Phalanx units are taught in a new school of thought, called the pike square, which promises to give the units more independent operation by covering their flanks.

Suiyektu (You Are Reading This)

Military: Engineer Corps, Heavy Cavalry, Cavalry Archers, Longboats

Doctrines: Mercantilism, Meritocracy, Spies

Culture: Free Enterprise, Horse Husbandry

Issues: None

-An espionage corps is established for spying and what have you.

-Rosen timidity combined with Suiyektu engineering brilliance has led to the fall of Yykai and the retreat of the Rose army back to their homeland.

-An alphabet is codified.

-The military is mobilized westward in preparation for the highly anticipated Narthurian invasion. Drills training the soldiers in retreat tactics, such as enveloping feints, have been used in the preparations. No such invasion comes, and everybody is disappointed.

Narthuria (Spider-Byte)

Military: Heavy Pike Phalanxes, Infantry Skirmishers, Heavy Cavalry, Cavalry Archers, Engineer Corps, Galleys

Doctrines: Public Investment, Penal Army

Culture: Knights Tharos, Narthos (religion), Warmongerers

Issues: None

-Northern expansion is halted by Onvast land grabs.

-Arthris declares himself the son of the war god, Spearus. He has launched a successful purge of the other gods in the pantheon, relegating them to the status of demi-gods in relation to Spearus, who now holds much greater respect in the minds of the people.

-The son of Arthris, Tiris, takes up the throne upon his father's death and continues the religious reforms, transforming the Narthurians into a warlike people.

-Tiris also reforms the military, bringing in lighter units to supplement the heavily armored mainstay of the army. In addition, he introduces the concept of prepared siege weaponry, bringing an engineering corps with him wherever his armies march. These engineers also help in developing national infrastructure.

-A fleet is also constructed.

Divus (Taryn)

Military: Pike Phalanxes, Archers, Galleys

Doctrines: Harbor Mirrors

Culture: Crab Cruelty, Stellar Surveyors, Tower of Babel (under construction), Sunnism (religion)

Issues: None

-A young boy has brought the attention of his master to a particularly shiny rock. For some reason – perhaps the greatest and most unfortunate coincidence of all time – no Divusian person had ever seen a reflection before. The nation's scientifically inclined philosophers, shocked and unraveled by this new discovery, have decided to utilize it in the creation of telescopes and mirrors. One such individual, using the mirrors to concentrate light to a point, burned his entire face off. Intrigued by the potential for this as a weapon, the king has commanded that giant mirrors be stationed in all of the great harbors, to burn the boats of enemy nations upon approach.

-The orgy law is rescinded and single mothers are given significant subsidies to prevent them from drowning their spawn.

Striate (Owen, The Communist Tree)

Military: Axemen, Longbowmen, Galleys

Doctrines: Mandatory Service

Culture: Militant Patriotism

-An army is sent to attack New Khanye. They set out under ill omens; the army's seer refused to march with them, believing that the gods were showing some displeasure at the quest. Nevertheless, they pressed on, marching a vast distance before reaching the great city. Upon their path they were beset by constant terrors; a plague among the ranks, desert raiders, mass desertion, supply shortages, and several tornadoes. By the time they arrived at New Khanye the force was only a shadow of what it had been before, and upon realizing the futility of their task, the soldiers surrendered in their entirety to the city, where they lived the rest of their lives out as slaves.

-Traders are commanded to establish trading routes with a land called Sprawl. They report back that no such country exists in the known world. Trade negotiations with the xenophobic Vilanoans ends in a quagmire, as they refuse to make any concessions for a culture as xenophobic as they are. Attempts to trade with Korea and Fittaland are much more successful.

-An engineer corps is established specifically for the construction of siege towers, although they boast an ability to create ladders and catapults as well. Other formations in the military are also reformed, including the infantry which is now more heavily armed and armored, and the cavalry which is now supplemented by an archer corps.

-A code of conduct is written for the people to follow, although it specifically targets the lower administration to decrease corruption and increase efficiency.

Sprawl (Sergeant Arch Dornan)

Military: Zealot Halberdiers, Priest Corps, Light Cavalry, Camel Riders, Engineer Corps, Galleys

Doctrines: Religious Tolerance

Culture: Alien Admiration, Unitology (religion)

Issues: Aegis War (imminent victory), Anti-Tolerance Movement

-Larger boats are built for greater capacity, but it is found that they sail far too slowly to be practical. An experiment is then made into small, faster boats, but it is found that these ships simply cannot get anywhere without running out of supplies. In the end, the project for a better boat is abandoned.

-Priests and priestesses are added as a wing of the army for morale and logistics support.

-The mountains north of Atlas, dry and barren, are no place for people to live. Or so they say. Those sent against their will to settle the territory are surviving, more or less.

-An engineer corps is added to the army for the construction of siege weapons.

-A law of religious tolerance is added to the books. The people are widely against this act, as are the priests. "This nation is a Unitologist country" they say, "if you don't like it, leave."

-The blockade of Aegis is ramped up with more ships, which can be produced at a far greater rate than Aegis can manage. The city is gradually starving, and may give up soon.

Vilanoa (Cale)

Military: Pike Phalanxes, Light Cavalry, Cavalry Archers

Doctrines: Law Codes, Production Subsidies, Caste System

Culture: Xenophobia, Racism

Issues: War Hawks, Rogue Senator Army

-Although the state does not restrict or limit international trade, very little of it is happening. It would appear that the people, xenophobic as they are, do plenty good enough of a job reducing trade themselves.

-A caste system is established, identifying certain individuals as more Vilanoan than others. Racial antagonism sparked by this legislation has led to a stratification of society, which is now broken apart into distinct classes which are impossible to escape from.

-A very ambitious senator, tired of waiting for his country to do something about the foreigners on the doorstop and anxious to gain personal glory, has seized control of an army through pure charismatic skill and marched east, seizing Hegan.

Monarchy of the Roses (Tchefuncte Bonaparte)

Military: Spear Warbands, Light Cavalry, Galleys

Doctrines: Egalitarianism

Culture: Tulip Traffickers, Rose Retailers, Pyramids

Issues: None

-Westward expansion continues with the seizure of Trin and Albufeira.

-A highway system is implemented and wide roads are paved between major cities.

-A great library is built in Lisbon to keep all of the great knowledge of the empire in one, conveniently flammable spot.

Orientale (Starscream)

Military: Spear Warbands, Archers, Ballistae, Galleys

Doctrines: None

Culture: Christianity (religion)

Issues: None

-Nothing happens.

Cuba (Major Bummer)

Military:Swordsmen, Pikemen, Archers, Engineer Corps, Galleys

Doctrines: Penal Slavery

Culture: Fish Fanatics, Christianity (religion)

Issues: Minya war (imminent victory)

-The king converts to Christianity. Most of his subjects quickly follow suit. Not because they have to or anything, and certainly not because heathens are being beheaded for their backwards faiths. Certainly not.

-All crimes, no matter the severity, are now punishable by slavery. The amount of time spent a slave is proportional to the severity of the crime.

-An engineer corps is established for the army.

-The armies continue conquering on the western frontier. Minya is given the opportunity to surrender, but they refuse. A siege is made.

Zaris (Tyranid Warrior)

Military: Heavy Infantry, Galleys

Doctrines: Inquisition

Culture: Engineer Exaltation, Nature Negation, Mechanarianism (religion)

Issues: None

-Yttri is invaded and successfully conquered, along with the entirety of its island domain.

-A massive temple is built upon the highest peak of the mountains south of Galis to honor the great prophet. It is said that the foot of the temple is where he first appeared in the world.

-The southern jungles are being removed by overzealous farmers and ranchers looking for flat lands to practice their agrarian ways.

Korea (Chewybunny)

Military: Light Infantry, Galleys

Doctrines: None

Culture: None

Issues: None

-Nothing happens.

Fittaland (RocketPropelledPanda)

Military: Spearmen, Crossbowmen, Galleys

Doctrines: Patrician Corporatism, Exotic Trade

Culture: Materialists, Blood Sports, Atheism, Adapted Apes, Large Lizards

Issues: None

-Husbandry can go no further to expand the strength of the country's domestic apes and lizards. They are absolute monsters as it stands.

-Rovkhal is renamed to Rovhal. Also more walls are built.

-Foreign trade is promoted.

-Infrastructural works are improved upon; new roads and bridges are built wherever needed, and the aqueducts are expanded to more cities.

Carim (CrowTheMagician)

Military: Assassin Warriors, Lightning Cavalry, Crossbowmen, Engineers, Longboats

Doctrines: Meritocracy, Inquisition, Spies, Free Trade, Welfare

Culture: Gothic, Olympians, Egalitarianism, Occult Studies, Empire of Bliss, Carimite Heathenry (religion)

Issues: None

-A great library is built in the capital. Book publishers are making bank producing volumes for the new archive.

-A welfare system is established to help the less fortunate even more than the exam system can.

-A civil service examination is established, weeding out the stupid from the upper classes and elevating the intelligent from the peasantry.

-An inquisitorial office and an espionage corps are established to keep Unitology missions out of Carim. The religion is banned within Carim's borders, leading many converts to flee alongside their priests to Sprawl.

-In further response to the heathens spreading their heretical believes across the land, the clergy establishes its own religious doctrine, now codified under a book and referred to as Carimite Heathenry.

-Mercantilist policies are ended and a policy of free trade is adopted. Carim has lost its edge in international trade and the national budget is suffering from lost tariffs, but overall the economy is improving, albeit not in obvious or very visible ways.

-Roads, inns, and highway patrols are established to make travel easier. Wherever one cannot travel by land, ferries and dedicated shipping lanes are established.

Hessaria (Black Graphic T)

Military: Heavy Infantry, Archers, Galleys

Doctrines: Mandatory Service, Religious Tolerance

Culture: Dragon Detractors, Seafarers, Unitology (religion)

Issues: None

-Mistralva has fallen. A holiday is proclaimed upon this fortuitous occasion, giving workers and soldiers several days of festivities and relaxation.

-The king, Markham the First, has decided to allow the Unitology missions to stay within Hessaria so long as the profess their believe in the national mythology surrounding dragons. Higher members of this new clergy are given special attention to prevent them from gaining much stature in society.

-With Unitology now officially legal and, in some small part, sanctioned by the king, the missions significantly expand their works and spread their beliefs to those who will hear it. The faith, initially derided by most as heretical and damaging, has gradually become the majority religion of many provinces.

-Delegates are sent to the meeting about Sprawl, but only as observers.

-Sailors are given monetary incentives to explore in search of new lands, but none have returned with significant findings to merit a reward.

-Infrastructure on the islands is greatly expanded by the now out-of-work conquering armies. Mines are dug, dams are built, and irrigation networks are constructed.

Doon (Laud Piestrings)

Military: Halberdiers, Swordsmen, Archers, Light Cavalry, Galleys

Doctrines: Bill of Rights, Meritocracy

Culture: Bear Beholders, Educators, Welfare, Wall Builders

Issues: High Wall Maintenance

-The walls are fortified even further. Keeping a constant garrison and maintaining these structures is becoming a significant drain on resources.

-What resources can be spared are directed towards the funding of Grisht's expansion into a major trading district.

-The army is reorganized with new specializations receiving their own separate corps, including archers and swordsmen. A meritocratic policy is established covering the military, making it more important to be good at your job than to be born into the right blood.

-The international road network is expanded upon with Iran and Ambrosia.

Japan (ShiJo)

Military: Samurai, Heavy Cavalry, Archers, Crossbowmen, Engineer Corps, Galleys

Doctrines: Mandatory Schooling, Meritocracy, Biological Warfare, Religious Tolerance

Culture: Swordmakers

Issues: None

-A fleet of galleys manifests itself out of the aether.

-The process of making "folded steel" has been developed, allowing the creation of uniquely sharp and durable blades, used by a type of soldier called the Samurai. The swordmaking culture is held to be sacred by those who value the services of these heavy infantry.

-New military divisions are raised including heavily armored samurai, which operate alongside similarly armored cavalry units and crossbowmen. An engineer corps is established for the construction of siege weapons such as towers and catapults.

-A doctrine of siege warfare is established regarding the use of disease in combat. Plague victims – alive or dead – are kept alongside armies, albeit some distance away to prevent infection, and are used to spread phages among the enemy population by throwing the corpses over walls.

-An alphabet of "moon runes" is established to make learning more uniform across the country.

-Religious tolerance laws are put into effect, guaranteeing the rights of the cults to practice their religions in peace. Some of the more exclusive cults have become so mysterious that they vanish from existence. Rumor has it they have been taken to the clandestine "unit 731" camp for medical experimentation.

-Rare metal mines are seized for government use. Gold and silver is horded in the national treasury and traded with other nations shrewdly for more practical resources.

-Roads and public harbors are built, significantly aiding the expansion of infrastructure and internal trade.

-Merchant explorers have reported the discovery of a land far to the north called Fittaland. Beyond this is another country called Korea. For some reason, everyone who hears of this "Korea" immediately gains an intense desire to conquer it.

Sorry guys. The missionaries agreed to our culture, so now we have Hessarian Unitology.

Though on the brightside, Hessaria is now religious tolerant in the medieval era. Soon we'll have universal health care and unemployment benefits if this progressivism keeps up. XD

I guess my spy idea took off. Also religion tolerance is usually something I wouldn't mind but the force conversion of my nation is something I can't stand by on, especially since I already thought of a religion for my nation.

It’s cool.

Can we still do trade and stuffs?

The only reason my nation isn't tolerant of other religions is because canonically they see other religions as a waste of time and resources. Their god wants them to advance and excel at everything they do, so worshiping a false idol would take needed time and resources away from advancement. That's the basics behind their religion. Now that doesn't mean they won't build giant temples for worship, but they also have another purpose. These temples often double as science labs for the scientist-priests to work in. Building a giant Marker in the middle of a town square would be seen as wasteful when all the resources, manpower, and time could have been used to construct a new farm, manufactory, or temple.

whats the point of religion if you are not gonna force it on everyone trough a holy crusade

DEUS VULT

Oh trust me, if someone tries to undermine my nation's religion or use there's as a distraction to stage a coup on my leadership (which I'll call the ruling Psion because it sounds cool), there'll be hell to pay.

Ah, yes – the ideal scenario according to the game theory.

Unfortunately, in a situations where all nations figuratively dropped their soap, you will find ones that will exploit it.

Just as in real life, no?

Quiet!You're running my plan

you are forgetting also the fact nations irl atleast care about their income and their people (sometimes) and their public relations and etc etc

unlike us who simply just dont fucking care

caring about the people as in the nobles who have money and influence, peasants are not people, they are just humanoid meat shields and mindless workers
