Damn! That's awesome! It transforms the song from a Let It Go type song to something along the lines of Defying Gravity. I can't wait to own it! Director's Cut plz. :3

(So in other words, is Rebecca Shoichet the new Idina Menzel???) :3

Edit: Page Get. Time for marshmallow pony.

So this is where all the quality of the animation and music of the series went. I absolutely loved it. Tbh I've felt the recent episodes season 5 is shelling out to be sub-par from what the show is capable of (no season 5 song has struck me as memorable yet), and now I know it's because all the time and energy is placed into the movie. I think the story is super good. Twilight isn't around to save the day at all, she's even turned into some reluctant villain. The whole scene is like when Goku turns into a villain, or when Steven doesn't recognize the crystal gems; it's friggin bizarre. I also loved the Shadowbolts. They lived true to their names that they're some sort of 'shadow' of their mane 6 counterparts. Not opposites, not two sides of the same coin, but they're simply somewhat similar, but different enough to be their own people. I kinda like how they weren't reformed -- sure they wised up to help out by the end but that's about it -- but they never really did anything wrong aside from being independent and giving off a 'don't mess with me' attitude. Speaking of the Mane 6, they all played a huge part and it's always nice to see them treated as individual characters and not just huddled up together. Sunset Shimmer continues to be a Cinnamon Roll and I cannot handle the diabeetus.

… Does anyone have that gif of Twilight subtly blushing after being saved by Sunset Shimmer at the end? That scene killed me.

Ehhhhhh I don't know. I still haven't grown to the Not!Mane6, maybe because I still haven't given the movie a second go. I just find it funny that the Opposite6 is what people have been expecting from the show since Discord's name was confirmed while the Hype for Season 2 was just starting (but then again they also thought Discord was going to be some Super Dark and Edgier than Shadow the Hedgehog Edgy All Black and Silver Alicorn thing.) and we only now got them after 5 years and….they were just there. But on the bright side this means the fandom gets to have fun with their background and shit! It's a Win Win…..I mean not really but you know.

Also, does anyone else think it's weird that we're actually getting a new episode on the 5th anniversary of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic? I know it's most likely a coincidence considering Discovery Family Channel probably doesn't give a fuck about releasing a new episode on the anniversary of the show's first episode and it just kind of fell on a Saturday again but still, pretty cool.

Brb, keeping with the Rarara thread topic

Man, that one gif was so worth posting that long drawn out spoiler tag.

Well, after that episode all I can say is a well thought out post describing my thoughts I had the entire 22 minute (plus 8 minutes of commercials) runtime…….

Big Mac probably does this kind of thing often.

I don't care if they're cousins, Big Mac / Orchard Blossom is my new OTP.

Edit:

Also – the episode synopses for the rest of the season are now out. They were released in a bug on Netflix that caused them all to be attached to episodes of Bojack Horseman. So from now on, I'm going to assume that both shows take place in the same universe.

Bojack is best pony.

So…..does that confirm Bojack as a spinoff of My Little Pony?

Oh, and @Big Mac x Orchard Blossom:

My first thought was:

So I'm expecting a parody poster soon enough. It needs to happen. :3

Guess I'll post more Rarity to make this post relevant. :3

Welp… After much procrastinating with online gaming, Anime, and the ocassional MLP episode… I now have another update for Sburb ponies.

… Not sure why I insist on bringing it up here every time, given everyone interested is probably already following… But hey… Slow thread. And at the very least, this update shows just how many characters I've made for it already. (And also why I should probably realize I'm in over my head)

@Episodes
My thoughts on Made in Manehatan, Brotherhooves Social, and Scare Master… All pretty much amount to "Daww".

…And occasionally a jab at the eccentricities of the characters involved, and getting the references. And maybe some musings about fetishes. But really… Nothing really seems to jump out at me that I felt wouldn't already have been noticed by all of you already.

… I'm slightly amazed that Rule 63 wasn't invoked already what happened, but whatever.

I noticed though, Anime in Equestria seems to now be canon… And Fluttershy seems to watch it. Apparently even one gender bending one given the Ranma 1/2 pone, which is hilarious in hindsight given we just saw Big Mac in Rule 63 fuel.

@Spoilers

I have a little more to say regarding the spoilers, but not much.

@Crusaders of the Lost Mark
Next up appears to be an episode where the crusaders accidentally help TiaraXSpoon. Expected lesson will probably be about how helping others is more important than hurting an enemy. But really, we all kind of want to see those two learn their lesson don't we?

… Unfortunately I don't share that sentiment… My High School life was 90% me scowling over 2 different people who were incorrigible. The worst part was that unlike the "acceptable targets" that Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara make by being elitists… Is that those two boys were universally despised as trash in every sense of the word that applies, to the extent that the counselors pretty much stated that their delinquent behavior was due to some developmental disorder.

I'm pretty sure what ended up happening was that rather than being "reformed" by any measure, they were essentially asked to leave due to complaints that they caused so much stress that some could not focus on their studies.

@The One Where Pinkie Pie Knows
I doubt we will get an immediate reveal of the new children of royalty. I mean, its likely they'll announce ITS HAPPENING! But baring the chance that its gone… 9 months before Pinkie finds out, which is laughable… Its still going to be quite a while between us finding out Cadance is pregnant, and her having a baby.

Realistically speaking that is… So its worth remembering its a world of pastel horses, and the last time a babies birth episode happened, there were numerous plot holes all round. So realism is not exactly high on the agenda.

@Hearthbreakers
THE SHIPPING CONTINUES!

I kid, this seems like a follow up on the Pinkie ApplePie Episode from last season. [Citation needed]

@What About Discord
Twilight is paranoid now? Can we just list her supposed mental disorder as "Anxiety Disorder not otherwise specified" yet?

But seriously, I doubt Discord is planning worse than a surprise party… He's likely spent some amount of time pulling off some weird magic school bus esque fantasies with the others though, and his idea of a surprise party is probably surreal as fuck… but hey, No pressure.

I imagine if there was a surprise party, it would probably be either his own birthday or anniversary of his return to Equestria… Or if he wants to go full mad hatter, his "unbirthday" or whatever it was.

@The Hooffields and McColts
Romeo and Juliette parady ahoy!

Probably.

@The Mane Attraction
"Managers do not have your best interests at heart" is pretty much show business 101.
They do however have your "Brand", your "marketability", and your "revenue" at heart. Which is pretty much going to be nothing but helpful when it comes to making sure you make some money for yourself… Even if they're doing it for their own gain.

Its called "Capitalism"… and its why, much like how last time with Rarity's manager when we had issues with not being "free"… That even though its not something that we enjoy, its still effectively an obligation to go along with it, given that deviating from it by giving the customer something that was not promised is illegal.

In this case, its likely the case is that the singer wants to sing certain songs, but her image won't allow it. Trying to deviate from her image here will come across the problem that trying to sell something different from her "label" under the same "label" is a breach of contract, similarly illegal but on a different stage of the process. But the end result is the same, the audience doesn't get what they paid for.

The alternative may be to sell a new image under a new label, but that's got its own issues of breaking exclusive rights agreements.

… No, I am not a legal studies major. So yeah, slap a big [citation needed] label on this.

@Finale
God… Sounds like my first fan fic… The one I abandoned because I forgot where I was going with it. The idea was supposed to be "many events snowball into big event that threatens to either rip apart the time-line, or cost a Mane 6 member her soul." Albeit in a D&D style setting with epic level characters.

It quickly devolved into absolute nonsense before it was put on "indefinite hiatus".

Needless to say, I have not learned my lesson in convoluted shenanigans. But I have at least managed to realize that pushing past writer's block by writing whatever crazy thing comes to mind is NOT a good idea.

But yeah, this synopsis really takes me back to my first days of trying to find a way to contribute to the fandom… So I half expect this to be my favorite episode for a weird nostalgic reason.

The Cute Master :3 wrote:

We're 4 for 4. What makes you think they are going to stop now? :^)

>Inb4 new 5th princess for season 5.

Unless you want to go ahead and count SSS as a princess. :3

Its important to note the subtle distinction here, "not likely to happen YET" does not mean "not likely to happen SOON". And neither statement states that it won't happen.

We have to assume that since Cadance was fine during the friendship summit, not even showing a bump… We have to assume she was either not pregnant at the time, or less than 3 months pregnant at the time.

So the absolute LOWEST amount of time between then, and an episode where she actually delivers the child… Is 6 months, and having that much time having passed between then and the episode is… Improbable.

… Unless… There was a size-able gap of time between the first half of the season and the second. But even then, in order to cover the events of the birth (or just after) in the same episode (since skipping to the birth would be a month long time skip or more), then the episode would have to take place over the time-frame of a month.

So yeah… Just skeptical, but I guess I'm not ruling it out.

@New Episode

6/10. That ending was able to boost it over the Manehatten episode. Other than the ending, it really wasn't that great. I don't think the "Big Mac dressing up as a mare" thing really worked that well. The humor was meh, and everyone knew it was Big Mac, so there wasn't any dramam to squeeze out of it.. I feel it would have worked much better as just a basic "Big Mac and Apple Bloom at the Social" episode. They could have cut all the borderline cringy comedy scenes in favor of some SoL and better established Big Mac's attempts to bond with Apple Bloom, while also giving some added Dash/Scootaloo scenes.

At least it made for some decent Tumblr drama.

@Next episode

Can't wait. If it's really true and not a synopsis ruse, the drama will be sweet.

BlueYoshi fanfic reading update:

I've been following a couple more Alt. Universe fics lately. The others that I'm already following are Twilight Manages to Screw Up More Than Usual, Letters From an Irritated Princess, I Am Going To Save And/Or Destroy Equestria! (on hold right now since the author is not feeling good at the moment), and Undead Robot Crusaders.

Other than that, here are the list of stories I've read or following:

The Moon, The Flower, And The Door – Story about Luna trying to find a protege like Celestia did with Twilight long ago. All of the unicorn ponies failed the test Luna gave them, until a mysterious earth pony named Morning Glory arrived one day.

What's Your Story, Morning Glory? – Sequel to the above fanfic, the story describes how Morning Glory traveled to Canterlot to become Luna's protege. One of the three stories I'm following.

Fiddlesticks! – Story about how Octavia got to know about the Apple family and how she managed to disguise herself as a pony named Fiddlesticks during the Apple family reunion. Vinyl sees through the disguise but doesn't react until the end.

Do You Want Nightmare Moons? – A royal guard is afraid when a children's sticker book does not contain Luna and believes that she will go mad when she realizes that her character has been omitted in the storybook. So he and his partner go to ridiculous lengths to prove that she is actually in the storybook.

Do I Mattered If I Is? – Parody of the fanfic Would It Matter if I Was?, this story is about Fluttershy asking Twilight about how she would react if Fluttershy was a changeling. And then weird stuff happens. (Note: I read the original and didn't like it, so I decided to read the parody.)

Princess Celestia Plots Out The Season Finale – Twilight realizes that all of her fights against the villains has been preordained.

Evil Belle: The Clonenening – The fifth story of the "Evil Belle" series. This story involves Sweetie Belle creating clones of herself and using them to take over Canterlot. Little does she know that the cloning spell she used is not as effective as she thought.

How to Train Your Cat-Bird – Story about a human taking care of Gilda in the human universe. Despite being a griffon, Gilda does random and funny things that an ordinary bird does when Spring arrives. (Guarding a birdbath, ruffling her feathers while talking to the main human character, and talking in front of a mirror are some of the examples.)

Twilight Shares the Narrator – Sequel to Twilight Hears the Narrator, Twilight and her friends start to hear the narrator narrate the events of their lives. The narrator is not amused. One of the two Alt. Univ. fanfics I'm following.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Overpowered – Season 4 of the "Friendship is Overpowered" series, this series involves Twilight and her friends using the power of friendship to solve every problem they encounter along the way. The second of the two Alt. Univ. fanfics I'm following.

So, about today's episode…

* Silver Spoon severs her alliance with Diamond Tiara. Boom!
* Diamond Tiara's mother was the negative influence the whole time. Boom!
* Diamond Tiara is redeemed. Boom!
* The Cutie Mark Crusaders finally have their cutie marks. [Nuke Explosion]
* For those still in doubt, Applejack confirms the fate of her parents with the phrase "if mom and d ad were here". Kaboom!
* And this episode happens to air on the 5th anniversary of MLP.
* I'm still processing everything, y'know.

In a show for little girls, you

  1. Got redemption for the obvious main antagonistic character for the CMC, a group (I thought) was supposed to provide simple and straightforward morals for the younger viewers
  2. Gave that antagonist a bit of backstory and context
  3. And gave what are supposed to be individual cutie marks, a symbol for individual unique talents, to a group of three after years of troping them more or less never getting those marks
  4. You threw in a bunch of songs in there for good measure.
  5. I had no clue how the episode was going to end. And I'm an adult.
  6. And you did it all

ON THE EXACT DATE OF THE 5TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE PREMIERE OF FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC.

I can't ride anymore. I just can't ride this ride.

Hmm, called that ending from the opening of the episode……well, called it from the fucking poster they released for the first half of season 5. Definitely a step up from the episode in which I have no desire to rewatch again (Seriously, how do we go from the episode where the main conflict of the episode is "Big Mac Cross Dressing" to THIS?!) and it's nice to see where Diamond Tiara gets her Shit Attitude from, because we sure as hell know it's not from her father considering he's the cool rich guy.

Good episode, satisfying conclusion considering…….how much further could you drag that storyline out?! Though I wasn't a fan of how sudden Diamond Tiara's 'redemption' was. Then again that's just the problem with musical episodes. Another good episode from Amy Keating Rogers (not surprised they decided to give THIS episode to her) it's going to be sad when she becomes a slave of Disney…..

Today's episode felt like Magical Mystery Cure. A bit rushed due to it being a musical, but it still had just the right amount of heart and emotion. Plus, the songs are some of the best Daniel Ingram has done. I hope they explore more of Diamond Tiara in the future.

I love how the CMC got their Cutie Marks on the show's 5th anniversary. Did the crew plan that out or something? I mean, they delayed that leaked episode, but I thought that was just for the Month of Rarity…
Plus, I was expecting that they'd get their cutie marks this season since season 5's had quite the motif for them, but I didn't expect they'd get them soon. Looks like the Mane 6 aren't gonna be the only ones going around Equestria to solve friendship problems ;)

You could kinda tell something was up with this episode seeing how it was a big musical episode like Alicorn Twilight was.
Not sure if I can accept Diamond as redeemed yet though, making fun Scotaloo's inability to fly is gonna take time for me not to hate her.
We all knew their marks was going to be about helping others with their cutie marks, but I feel the designs could have been better. They kinda stick out too much, maybe not so much on Scootaloo.
Also, super strength pony? Can you say "best special talent?"
Also, gratuitous Button Mash
Also Applejack's parents super dead
Also

Oh my goodness! It totally happened! It totally freaking happened! The CMC got their cutie marks!

Looks like the events of S05 E06 foreshadowed the events of S05 E18. They helped Trouble Shoes find out about his special talent back then. And now they helped Diamond Tiara find out about hers by helping her out. CONGRATULATIONS, CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS! YOU GOT YOUR CUTIE MARKS! And now that their previous journey is over, their new journey starts with their cutie marks!

Usually MLP episodes are a hit or miss for me, but sweet Celestia when mlp hits, it hits so darn good.

-Political turmoil
-So many songs in one episode and most if not all are hella catchy
-The sense of community in the school AND ponyville was strong and amazing to see
-Srsly tho did you see those backgrounds? Ponyville looked incredible and filled with life
-New character
-Giving depth to the age-old recurring bratty antagonist
-We've already known for a long time, but Earth ponies with super strength now confirmed
-Remember when everyone was so sure that Applebloom's, Scootaloo's, and Sweetie Belle's talents were repairing, daredevil-ing, and singing? Nope, CMC are good at helping other ponies find their talents. (this harks back to the Troubleshoes episode and wow willy zonkers I could've sworn that was a filler.) So in a way, they'll stay as the CMC. Hooray.

10/10 MLP isn't dead yet. There will be a day when I drop this show in the middle of a season but today isn't the day.

@Episode
7.5/10 (8.5 if DT doesn't forget everything and be a bitch again). Really surprised by it. CMC episodes aren't the best, but this one finally did it. Not only did DT finally get a little development, but the CMC tied up their longstanding plot point. Bretty good all around and a return to form after several mediocre episodes. I wonder if the VAs getting older finally forced the writers to pull the trigger on it?

I also wonder how Mrs Rich could get elected to the school board when she's such an insufferable bitch.

Oh fuck, good thing the leaked episode was a Nightmare Night episode. Imagine if the CMC just showed up with Cutie Marks in the leaked episode.

Pasted below is an artist's depiction of the fandom's reaction if that were true.

Well, it's time to reveal a little secret about a story I've been following over the past three months.

Last year, I read this story about a guy who gets turned into a pony due to magic shenanigans by one of his friends. And then I read its sequel shortly after. After a long while, the author wrote the third story of the series over the summer. However, it was darker and edgier compared to the first two stories, which put me in a grim mood most of the time while I read the story. He completed the story today before going on a two-year hiatus due to religious reasons. Here were my thoughts on each of the stories after reading the series. (Spoiler are here. Beware.)

"Cool Story Bro, But It Needs More… Ponies?"

Lyle Anderson, a high school junior, is slowly turning into a pony thanks to his friend Angela and her magic, which she discovered the night before and used it on Lyle for fun. To make matters worse, Lyle cannot exit the school after the classes are over due to detention. Because of this, Lyle fully transforms into a pony during detention, scares the living crap out of the teacher monitoring him, and gets to hang out with Emily, his crush, for the first time.

This is the first transformation fanfic I read. And boy, it was an awesome but awkward experience reading it. Though the transformation sequences made me feel uneasy while reading the story, Lyle's experience in his new body and his interaction with Emily was entertaining to read. I could've given up reading when the story started talking about Lyle's body parts slowly changing, but I decided to stick through and read it the whole way. It was worth it when I reached the part where Emily started scratching the back of Lyle's pony ears, which was my favorite part of the story.

"Yeah, It Needed More Ponies"

Lyle finally asks Emily out on a date, but Angela decides to use her magic shenanigans again and use the pony transformation spell on both Lyle and Emily! Both of them have random adventures as ponies while trying to hide from the public. Story also has a sweet moment with the duo in the end.

My favorite story of the series. Just like the events of the first story, it follows up with another wild, crazy, silly, and fun adventures that the human-turned-pony characters have before the transformation wears off. My favorite parts of the story were the parts where Emily and Lyle first talk to each other in their pony forms, the part where they both wake up from their long nap and realize that Emily was sleeping on top of Lyle, and their date in the park at nighttime with no one around.

Cool Story Bro… MOAR PONIES!

Lyle goes on a trip to Washington D.C. and makes new friends along the way. Unbeknownst to them, someone is lurking around and has sinister plans for the country….

This story is darker and edgier compared to the first two stories. It also introduces an antagonist who is up to no good and has a wide variety of magic to use in his disposal. Even though there were some humor scattered around in the fanfic, the laughter I received from those parts were short-lived since I was anxious to know what was going to happen in the later chapters. Despite the story and the series having a bit of happy ending (assuming that this is the end of the series), I was not happy with what happened in the story. Events that put me in the grim mood include:

-The villain using magic to turn anyone in his way (including the main characters) into ponies. Unlike the first two stories, there is no feasible way to reverse the spell. I was NOT in a happy mood after reaching that part of the story.
-The villain nearly accomplishing goals with little resistance. Apparently, he wanted revenge on the world after his wife was killed in a car crash by an agent who thought that the villain's wife was a magic wielder. The agent and the organization then tried their best to prevent the villain from using more magic and made the villain's life miserable by tracking him down. He then tried to complete a ritual to remake the continent into his own vision in the last couple of chapters.
-A character sacrificing herself to alter the villain's ritual, which would've turned all humans in the continent into regular animals and would've destroyed all traces of civilization as well. This part made me sad, because she was usually a source of comic relief until the third story. (Well, she does come back, but as a magical entity instead of an actual living being.)
-The altered ritual's effects and the ending. Turns out that the character who sacrificed her life made it so that everyone on the continent would be sapient ponies of all species. They become accustomed to their lives after the first week, but there is no imminent solution to reversing the spell, since the altar used to complete the ritual is gone and warped to another unknown location.

I think the "Cool Story Bro" series would be better if the third story was not included in the series; the first two series put me in a joyful bright mood after reading them, but the third one did not. I still give credit to the author for taking the series to a new direction, though.

Here is what the author of the series said in response to my post.

Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Thanks for writing down your thoughts on these stories. I had fun reading them, mostly because I don't usually read my own work that much and your thoughts brought back a sense of nostalgia to me.
But as you said, the third one was a bit darker than the other two, and I totally agree. While you personally say the third would've been better off not being done, I say there's a lesson to be learned in that. The first two stories were definitely my happiest ones, with great moments of love and laughter. But just like any story, bad things can happen, and most of the time, we don't have control over those. At the end, everyone did their best and did what had to be done, and even if it wasn't a perfect result, they found a way to live with that.
You see, the real reason why I wrote this third story wasn't quite to complete the other two, but to add and teach this sort of lesson. Bad things happen, and people have to make do. In my experience, truly compelling stories always seemed to be the ones with the most truthful of morals and lessons. So I basically took a page out of the books that I love the most, and tried doing something different, and ended up making something I could feel proud of. A few people said this third installment didn't have enough comedy to live up to the first two, but honestly, not every story is the same. Every story has its own set of twists and turns, some you can see, but others you can't until it's too late, and they're either a welcome surprise or just another 'feels trip', and I wanted to teach the lesson I mentioned above with a different angle and by leading it in a different direction.
I realize that I may have just been rambling for a whole paragraph and a half, but those are honestly my thoughts now. I hope you can understand where I'm coming from, as I have read and understand your ideals.
Thanks for the comment!
-Shadowflame

Overall, this was a creative and fun series. The stories in the "Cool Story Bro" series is the only MLP fanfics I read that does not have any MLP characters in it nor does it interact with the MLP universe. Though the third story killed my mood, I liked the first two and the various random and silly stuff that happened in those stories.

Just go on the My Little Pony facebook page and look at posts from before Friendship is Magic aired and after. Just look at how the comments quickly turn from Soccer moms going "I'm not letting my kids watch these anime looking ponies. I'm going to give them my old toys from when they actually resembled horses!" to a bunch of teenage to middle aged men going "Holy shit that was amazing."

I'll never forget the first pony thread where some guy saw the big belly on Twilight Sparkle after that feast and officially started the first future porn discussion "Fuck yeah, can't wait for the scat porn to follow this!" ~ Anon, 2010.

@New episode
I watched half the episode on like… Sunday, and the other half like… Now… And I feel I should have seen it coming… But I was still mildly surprised.

Though… If anybody noticed the designs of the Cutie Marks… They appear to be one of those "dual talent" types. Since it still shows signs of at least Scootaloo and Sweetie Bell's affinities for stunts and music. And I know at least one panel of OC reviewers that would be skeptical of this choice.

That said… I see nothing wrong with this. They've decided their "destiny" is to help others, but that's not the sum of their talent. So I think its more fair to say that a Cutie mark is not necessarily a "Talent Only" affair.

A more apt equation is likely: Destiny + Talent = Cutie Mark

Which leads to a main question… Since the CMC got their Cutie Marks, and all they understood was their destiny… Doesn't that imply they only need to know one or the other to get their Cutie Mark?

That could explain why the CMC seem to be able to help other ponies understand their Cutie Marks. even when they already have them; they may only understand one part of their Cutie Mark.

I should also mention I'm not a fan of a bully being redeemed, as I mentioned before… If only because between my undying rage left over from high school never got vindicated, since the worst bullies I knew weren't redeemed, only driven out of town.

That said… I'm not mad at Diamond Tiara's redemption… Though that could be because of how much worse her mom is.

Its funny… I find "villains" redeemable, because in the end their motives are just, even if their methods aren't. But I find "bullies" irredeemable, since there's no cure for narcissism.

This is the first CMC episode that I actually liked loved. I happied so hard at the end!

Wow. Just wow. Season ender right there. It can be over for all I care. That was great! I was somewhat blindsided by those CMs though. I thought they might have the CMC logo for one, but I also was sure they would be something along their individual talents after The Show Stoppers episode.

I guess looking back over the past two CMC episodes, they really did focus on the whole "help others figure out their talents" aspect. Aren't they supposed to be getting their own spin off series? I know discover joked about it on their FB page, and EqG was supposed to get a side series as well. Either way, I hope this means more awesome CMC more frequently. Can't wait to see them get their wings make their marks!

In case you missed it, here's the updated map from the new Art of Equestria book:

We're also close to finishing of the season 5 poster! :3

Anyone following that Rouge Diamond Comic? It's like 6 illustrated chapters and pretty cool. I swear Shadow Spade from Rarity Investigates! was inspired by it…well…sortta. It's a cool comic at least.

Well, that was the longest 22 minutes of my life. The Happening happened over there. Pretty good episode, thought she was going to spill the beans within the last few minutes and blah blah blah "I have a secret" episode cliche blah blah blah. Good thing she fucking made it.

Dear Pony General. I wanted to share my thoughts about this episode with you…
I didn't learn anything!

No, seriously, what was the moral here? I've only watched the episode once, but as far as I can tell this is the first episode to just not bother having a moral (other than Tanks For The Memories, but that drew parallels to the stages of grief and dealing with death). I'm not sure how I feel about this. This show has enough in the ways of character and world that it doesn't really NEED a moral at the end of every episode, but still. I kinda liked the morals. They gave the episode something to build towards.

I was also convinced that the conflict was going to be that, after their interaction right at the start, Rarity was going to think Pinkie was the one who was having a baby, and Pinkie was just going to roll with it because that way she could talk about how excited she was about a baby without spoiling the secret. I think that would've been fun. Still, judge the episode based on what it is, not what it isn't. It was still funny and cute and kinda self-aware.

Boy or girl? If it's a girl, will some fans accuse Hasbro of pandering to SJWs?

Right, because MLP hardly ever has important female characters – so if they create one, they must be pandering. /sarcasm

Everyone knew that Shining Armor and Princess Cadance were eventually going to have a baby. But what I loved was how the secret was kept throughout the episode until the huge surprise. Thank Celestia that the couple was able to make it in time to prevent Pinkie Pie from spoiling the secret; I thought Pinkie Pie really was going to ruin the surprise. Throughout the episode, I was like, "No, no, no, no, no! Don't tell anypony! Don't tell 'em, Pinkie!" or "You can do it, Pinkie!"

Overall, this was a nice little fun episode to watch. The random Pinkie Pie antics were fun to watch.

@Episode
Called it.

Specifically:

I doubt we will get an immediate reveal of the new children of royalty. I mean, its likely they’ll announce ITS HAPPENING! But baring the chance that its gone… 9 months before Pinkie finds out, which is laughable… Its still going to be quite a while between us finding out Cadance is pregnant, and her having a baby.

Now to see if anybody made fanart.

Hmm…. Nope. Nevermind. Some screencap malarky it is.

Also, its like the 3rd 10/18 anniversary of my Tumblr comic, so I made a little something. (Not that I had much time to make it.)

… Funny the two days feel on the same day this time.

For some odd reason those 22 minutes lasted forever. I don't mean that in a bad way. I had plenty of fun with the episode but good golly I thought I was at the 17 minute mark but I'm only halfway through the episode. Chalk it up to plenty of dialogue. We got to see plenty of character interactions and HAHA mlp really is stepping up their continuity game by keeping most recent events in the picture; The CMC definitely had their cutie marks and that was just since the last episode. I really love this whole thing going on showing Pinkie isn't an airhead; she probably has a schedule as busy as Twilight's.

^This was such a funny gag. 8/10

I'm already calling it now Princess Skyla is the 5th Alicorn and she's going to have immense magical surges and flight control which will be the focus of plenty of episodes.
