About

"Besharam Rang" refers to the name of a song from the 2023 Bollywood film Pathaan starring Deepika Padukone and Shahrukh Khan. The music video to the song, released in December 2022, led to a series of discussions on social media about Deepika's dance moves, as well as memes parodying the viral video, particularly among Indian internet users.

On December 12th, 2022, YouTube channel YRF^[1] posted the music video to the song "Besharam Rang" from the 2023 film Pathaan. The video gathered over 39 million views in two days (seen below).

The clip became a topic of discussion on social media soon after its release as it went viral, primarily due to people ridiculing a dance move made by the actress in the music video. On December 12th, 2022, Twitter^[2] account @Badass_Superdad posted a tweet joking about the choreographer of the music video, gathering over 1,000 likes in two days (seen below).

Also on December 13th, Twitter^[5] user @rachit1m posted a meme where Canadian-Indian-Moroccan actress Nora Fateh says "you can't twerk" to Deepika. The post gathered over 500 likes in a day (seen below, right).

On December 14th, Twitter user @DeepikaBhardwaj^[6] posted a parody of the music video, gathering over 2,000 likes in a day (seen below). The video was reposted by @Being_humor on December 15th, where it gathered over 6,000 likes in less than a day.^[7]
