During the exchange, Kirk challenges Mercury to prove he is a barista by making him a latte. Kirk then takes a sip of his Starbucks drink and rolls his eyes back in exaggerated pleasure.

The meme is notable as one of the last viral moments involving Charlie Kirk during his lifetime. Following Kirk's death in September 2025, the clip and eye-roll reaction saw increased circulation online. The meme experienced another resurgence in September 2026, nearly a year later, as users revisited it in connection with the anniversary of Kirk's death, known as the "Kirkiversary."

Origin

In the clip used in the meme, a person named Mercury introduces himself as a pansexual Starbucks barista and asks Kirk about a previous comment regarding male baristas and masculinity. Kirk treats the exchange as trolling, challenges Mercury to prove he is a barista by making a latte and later reacts with an eye-roll while sipping his drink.

On March 24th, 2025, Charlie Kirk’s official YouTube^[1] channel @RealCharlieKirk uploaded a video titled “I Guess so!” a roughly 51-second clip including the moment Kirk takes a sip of his Starbucks drink and rolls his eyes back. The video received over 1.6 million views and 56,090 likes in a bit over a year.

The same day, The Charlie Kirk Show^[2] TikTok account, @thecharliekirkshow, posted the same clip, receiving over 8.4 million views and 454,500 likes in a similar timeframe.

The clip of Charlie Kirk sipping his drink subsequently began spreading on the platform, with users utilizing it to joke about how good something tastes.

On August 31st, 2025, TikTok^[3] user @im.a.real.unicorn1 posted a video referencing the reaction. By September 9th, 2026, it had received over 701,700 views and 59,200 likes, approximately one year later.

On November 16th, 2025, Following Kirk's death, TikTok^[4] user @ydkme517366 posted another use of the reaction. The video received over 2.2 million views and 372,100 likes approximately 10 months later.

On November 25th, 2025, TikTok^[5] user @eloisesayre_08 posted a video discussing the clip, which received over 5.1 million views and 622,500 likes in about nine months.
