Chill Bill Theme Song, also known as Chill Bill Intro Song or Chill Bill Music, refers to the theme song for the Skylanders: Trap Team character Chill Bill. The theme trended via memes on TikTok in the early 2020s, specifically in mid-2023, in which meme creators praised the song, calling it a "banger" or complimenting it via other meme content. Many memes surfaced after a Chill Bill x Kanye West remix that used Ye's song "Touch the Sky" from the album Late Registration. Thereafter, many Chill Bill Theme Song remixes surfaced on the app, furthering its memetic usage.

Origin

The video game Skylanders: Trap Team was released on October 2nd, 2014.^[1] Prior to the game's release, on September 14th, 2014, the Skylanders Music Channel on YouTube^[2] uploaded a video that was the music for the character Chill Bill, gaining roughly 434,700 views and 3,100 likes in nine years (shown below).

Currently, the first discovered, memetic usage the Chill Bill Theme Song was posted by YouTuber^[3] TheSkylanderBoy AndGirl on February 27th, 2016, within episode 32 of the channel's "Skylanders Shorts" series. The video created a rap song for Chill Bill using his theme song which started at the video's 1:35-minute mark (shown below). Over the course of seven years, the video gained roughly 7.7 million views and 23,000 likes.

Despite usage in the late 2010s, viral usage of the Chill Bill Theme Song didn't persist until mid-2022, when it became commonplace on TikTok. For instance, on July 17th, 2022, TikToker^[4] @chill_bill7 posted a screen recording of text messages in which every message sent was a video of Chill Bill's theme song, receiving roughly 1.1 million plays and 100,700 likes (shown below, left). On August 18th, 2022, TikToker^[5] @binny_____ posted a video of a man playing a piano on fire, labeling it as the composers who wrote Chill Bill's theme. The video gained roughly 808,900 plays and 138,100 likes in 11 months (shown below, right).

Usage of the theme song resurfaced a year later, in July 2023, amid a viral Chill Bill TikTok Photo Slideshows trend that used TikTok's photo slideshow feature to zoom into the backgrounds of iconic images to reveal Chill Bill within them. The first slideshow of this nature was posted by TikToker^[6] @rufusnodoofus on July 4th, 2023.

Chill Bill x "Touch the Sky" by Kanye West

On July 4th, 2023, TikToker^[7] @ahwooguh posted a video that mashed Chill Bill's theme song with Kanye West's song "Touch the Sky," gaining roughly 231,000 plays and 41,200 likes in six days (shown below, left). The sound gained viral reposts and memetic usage going into July 2023, also inspiring variant remixes. For instance, on July 8th, 2023, TikToker^[8] @matthew.mcmorbius posted a remix with "I Wonder" by Ye, gaining roughly 347,400 plays and 63,600 likes in two days (shown below, right).
