Clawroline or Lethal Leopard Clawroline is an anthropomorphic, female leopard character and villain from Kirby and the Forgotten Land on the Nintendo Switch. The character was revealed in a screenshot and briefly in a trailer for the game in February 2022, quickly inspiring fan art, including Rule 34, with the furry community taking particular interest in the character.

Origin

On February 9th, 2022, Nintendo released a series of screenshots for their upcoming game Kirby and the Forgotten Land after a Nintendo Direct stream. One screenshot shows a splash screen for a boss fight with "Lethal Leopard Clawroline," an anthropomorphic leopard character with glitter eye shadow, long eyelashes and a slender body (shown below). The images were posted to Nintendo Everything^[1] that day.

Clawroline briefly appears in a trailer for the game released that same day, showing Kirby facing off against her. Clawroline is shown taking a swipe at Kirby with her overly long claws (shown below).

The character gained significant virality quickly after she was revealed, particularly with furries, inspiring fan art online during the reveal in early February 2022. Much of the fan art is rule 34, depicting Clawroline in a sexual manner. At least 18 pieces of fan art were posted to Fur Affinity^[2] by February 10th. Numerous pieces were also uploaded to Twitter^[3][4] around the same time (examples shown below, left and right).

Numerous pieces of fan art were also uploaded to Newgrounds^[5] by the same time, including a piece where Clawroline says "Mother 3 will never be localized," referencing the reveal of Earthbound's arrival to the Nintendo Switch (shown below).

On February 10th, Twitter^[6] user @ArcatechART posted a comic where Harriet from Super Mario Odyssey gives Clawroline advice on dealing with all the rule 34 art, gaining over 150 likes in under a day (shown below).
