About
Die Lit Album Cover Parodies are parodies of the album cover for Playboi Carti's "Die Lit," depicting Carti stage diving into a crowd of punks in black-and-white. The album was released in May 2018 and the album cover became the subject of photoshop parodies that month, often replacing Carti diving with another person or character or placing him in another situation. In 2021, people began making Bro Think He Carti video edits where characters flip in the air, followed by the image being edited into the album cover.
Origin
On May 10th, 2018, Playboi Carti announced that his debut album "Die Lit" would release the next day on May 11th, sharing the album cover.[1] The album cover is a black and white photograph of Carti stage diving headfirst into a crowd of punk rockers while giving the middle finger (shown below). It was photographed by Nick Walker and based on a similar photograph from the punk band Charged GBH.[2][3]
On May 10th, a guest user of the KanyeToThe[4] forum posted the album artwork and a .PNG cutout of Carti stage diving to a thread titled, "CERTIFIED CLASSIC: PLAYBOI CARTI DIE LIT COVER MEMES." The thread inspired over 390 replies, including many photoshops placing Carti into different situations (examples shown below).

On September 20th, 2020, YouTuber[6] Quantum Dank posted a compilation video of Die Lit parodies, garnering over 118,000 views in two years (shown below).
