Disgusted Upvote refers to a three-panel webcomic by artist SrGrafo in which one person says something which disgusts the other, who still upvotes it nonetheless. Memes based on the webcomic gained significant popularity on Reddit in late June 2019.

Origin

On May 24th, 2019, webcomic artist SrGrago posted an unfinished comic titled "Dude… Ok…" as an exploitable template for a meme contest (shown below).^[1] The post gained over 1,100 upvotes in one month.

Spread

In the following days, the format saw moderate spread on Reddit, including contest submissions in /r/SrGrafo^[2] subreddit and notable posts in /r/animemes ^[3] and /r/PewdiepieSubmissions (examples shown below).^[4]

On June 26th, Redditor muchfunhaveI posted a version of the meme to /r/dankmemes which gained over 21,500 upvotes in one day (shown below, top left),^[5] prompting a resurgence of the format.
