Do NOT Face Allah Alone While Astral Projecting refers to a copypasta and viral post from the /r/BewitchTheTaliban subreddit. The sub was originally formed as a place for witches to attempt to fight the Taliban terrorist group, but later became a parody where users share shitposts and ironic jokes pretending to magickally fight against the Taliban. The copypasta was posted on Reddit in August 2021 and resurfaced as a phrasal template in the following years, especially on Twitter / X, where users replaced "Allah" with different people and characters from TV Shows, video games or movies.

Origin

On August 16th, 2021, an unknown Redditor started a discussion in the r/witchcraft^[6] subreddit about organizing a "max hexing of the Taliban forces in Afghanistan." The anonymous user later created the r/BewitchTheTaliban subreddit, which originated the "Do NOT face Allah" copypasta a day later. (seen below)

On August 17th, 2021, Redditor u/dumbest_bitch shared a post titled "Do NOT face Allah alone while Astral Projecting" in /r/BewitchTheTaliban^[1] subreddit. The post (since deleted) describes the users' experience while performing an astral projection and summoning Allah in the hopes of trying to "weaken him so our hexing spells would work better."

The post was later shared on X^[2] by user @garfpooop on August 19th, 2021, which garnered over 9,400 likes and 2,300 reposts in four years.

On August 20th, 2021, u/dumbest_bitch's post was added to the /r/copypasta^[3] subreddit by Redditor u/lahca, which amassed over 1,900 upvotes and 90 comments in four years. Full copypasta below:

Today while astral projecting I summoned allah to try and weaken him so our hexing spells would work better.
He is so fucking powerful. I'm not at a power level to do this alone. I barely escaped with my life and I'm spiritually injured to a great amount, but I think I'll make it.
I can't imagine what he would do to a new, unsuspecting witch. I'm scared that I will have to face him again soon if I ever want to continue astral projecting. I'm currently burning healing incense and drawing spiritual energy from my crystals to try and heal as quickly as possible.
Please be safe everyone. Allah is much stronger than I first imagined and we will have to do this together if we want to slay a god.

The copypasta gained traction on X and Reddit over the next few years, often used when someone mentions witchcraft, astral projection or spell casting.

For instance, on October 22nd, 2024, X^[4] user @Carboniferoys shared a screenshot of the original Reddit post in a reply to a tweet about witches trying to cast spells on U.S. President Donald Trump ahead of the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election. The tweet (seen below) received roughly 2.9 million views and 47,000 likes in a year.

On May 11th, 2025, X^[5] user @gaulicsmith posted a version of the copypasta replacing "Allah" in the original with White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller. The tweet (seen below) amassed over 101,000 views and 2,900 likes in a day.
