About
Dumb Ahh Pumpkin refers to 2024 Halloween meme trend of carving jack-o'-lanterns with goofy faces, including buck teeth, resembling the Smiling Buck Tooth Emoji. The term "dumb ahh" comes from the slang term Goofy Ahh. The original Dumb Ahh Pumpkin meme was an image reading, "dumbass punkimg" which was posted in October 2023. However, the Dumb Ahh Pumpkin trend didn't gain significant traction until it went viral on TikTok in October 2024.
Origin
On October 19th, 2023, TikToker[1] @venafrfr posted a non-viral photo slideshow that included an image of a jack-o'-lantern with a text caption reading, "dumbass punkimg." The slideshow is not the first upload of the meme but it's currently the first discovered upload. The text is from an Instagram story or post. Also, a watermark on the image suggests that a previous TikToker named @okbrowhattheflip posted the image first, however, the image is not present in any of the user's currently accessible slideshows.
Regardless, the Dumbass Punkimg meme spread on social media platforms like Reddit[2] and Twitter / X[3] in the following months.
Spread
On October 11th, 2024, TikToker[4] @adamhammmmm posted a video of his own jack-o'-lantern which he called "dumb ahh pumpkin." The video received over 8.7 million plays and 2 million likes in 13 days (shown below).

In the following days, others added to the trend by creating their own Dumb Ahh Pumpkins and posting videos of them to TikTok. For instance, on October 14th, TikToker[5] @gianabarscz posted an iteration, gaining over 550,600 plays and 104,100 likes in 10 days (shown below).

On October 21st, 2024, TikToker[6] @notgradymathison posted a video in which he pushed his Dumb Ahh Pumpkin off a ledge, titled, "dumb ahh pumpkin dying." Over three days, the video received roughly 8.2 million plays and 1.7 million likes (shown below).

Violence against the Dumb Ahh Pumpkins became increasingly intense. For instance, on October 22nd, TikToker[7] @sunandmoonandthestarboy posted a video of his pumpkin Biting the Curb, gaining over 6.7 million plays and 1 million likes in two days (shown below).
