About

Edge is a Time Traveller is a meme that depicts WWE wrestler Edge (Adam Joseph Copeland) trying to prevent different events from history and fictional media. In many variations, the meme uses a Girls vs. Boys format, writing in text what girls would do when the first time machine gets invented, and using Edge as the depiction of what boys would do.

Origin

Accordingly to some websites[1][2], the meme is reference to a secret mode in the 2010 video game WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011, which must be unlocked by bringging Edge the parts he needs in order to build a time machine. It is uncertain when the meme started, but it was noticed by many websites in the first days of July, specially after Edge confirmed in July 2 that he knew about the memes through a comment on his Instagram account, despite recognizing he didn't understand most of them because they were in Spanish.[3][4][5][6]
