Overview
Central Committee Twitch Bounty On Destiny refers to a controversy in which American Twitch streamer Central_Committee, real name Michael Beyer, appeared to imply that he would reward someone with $100,000 for anyone willing to do something to the streamer Destiny in early November 2024. The vague comment quickly sparked backlash from many online as netizens perceived it as a threat or bounty, and as a result, Central_Committee was banned from the streaming platform shortly after, claiming it was a bad joke. Online, the bounty became a viral topic on Reddit and X / Twitter in late 2024 in which netizens criticized Central_Committee's alleged prank. The incident is notably similar to the Denims bounty on Asmongold that occurred in April 2024.
Background
On November 8th, 2024, Twitch streamer Central_Committee (Michael Beyer) reacted to a video by fellow streamer Destiny titled "Chilin' help me decide between Staccato XC and Alien." In a moment during the livestream as he reacted to the clip, Central_Committee said that he had an "opportunity" to earn $100,000 for any follower living in Florida (where Destiny purportedly lives), with many perceiving it as him insinuating that he would pay for someone to do something to Destiny (seen below).[1][2]

Central_Committee was then unbanned after three days, with the X[9] account @StreamerBans posting the news on November 11th, receiving over 91,400 views, 670 likes and 130 replies in less than 24 hours.
Asmongold FBI Contact
On November 10th, 2024, during the same period that Central's bounty toward Destiny became a viral topic, streamer Asmongold revealed that he was contacted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) concerning a similar incident in which a $30,000 bounty on him was offered by streamer Denims. Asmongold also told viewers he chose not to pursue any action against the streamer who put the bounty on him.[5]
On the same day, X[6] user @Grummz posted a screenshot of an X user investigation on Asmongold's bounty, writing that Denims apologized for the incident and said it was not meant for Asmongold, and actually towards Grummz. The tweet (seen below), amassed more than 7,100 likes and 540 reposts in a day.
Online Reactions
The bounty on Destiny quickly sparked debates and memes on social media in mid-November 2024 as netizens criticized Central's joke and discussed the incident online.
