About

The Chud the Builder Shooting, also known as ChudTheBuilder Attempted Murder Charge, refers to an incident in which controversial streamer Chud The Builder (ChudTheBuilder), real name Dalton Eatherly, shot a man with whom he had an altercation in Tennessee, resulting in charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, employing a firearm during a dangerous felony and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon. Reportedly, Eatherly was also shot, although it is unclear if he shot himself or if he was shot by another person.

The shooting took place on Wednesday, May 13th, 2026, outside of the Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville, Tennessee, while Chud The Builder was livestreaming on Pump.fun. News of the shooting went viral on social media following reports of the incident, with many also discussing what they perceived as Chud the Builder's controversial, racially charged and often disruptive content.

Background

Chud the Builder is a former Kick streamer (banned in late April 2026)[9] and X / Twitter personality known for his IRL streams. He has over 225,000 followers on X,[1] where his bio reads, "Free Speech Patriot ☦️Christ is King. America First." Chud the Builder is known as a controversial figure, with numerous clips of him being racist towards Black people, using the N-word and terms like "chimping out" and being generally confrontational while in public going viral in the 2020s.

For example, shortly prior to the incident on May 9th, 2026, a clip went viral on X[2] of Chud the Builder arguing with an older white man with a Black son outside a bar. Chud the Builder can be seen in the clip calling the man a "n----- lover" multiple times.

Chud the Builder reportedly livestreamed himself on Pump.fun, talking to first responders on the scene. The audio was posted online shortly after the incident.[5]

In the clip, Chud the Builder claims that some men were laughing at him. Chud the Builder approached, and the man told him to walk away, which he claims he did. The man then said he had "PTSD" and told Chud the Builder, "You start saying all that chimp out shitt to me and ‘imma hit you." "Chimp out shit" likely refers to Chud the Builder's purported history of calling Black men "chimps." The man then started hitting Chud the Builder and Chud the Builder shot him, saying to the first responders, "I had to defend myself by shooting him."
