Overview

Disneyland Fight refers to a viral video of a family physically fighting in Toon Town at the Disneyland theme park in Anaheim, California which caused viewers online to criticize the lack of security at the park and attempt to make sense of the fight.

Background

On July 7th, 2019, SJP35 Productions uploaded "Fight At Disneyland ToonTown 7/6/19" (shown below). The video gained over 1.9 million views in two days and features nearly ten people physically fighting with one another surrounded by Disneyland visitors. Some of the men in the video were shown hitting women.

Notable Developments

On July 8th, 2019, Anaheim Police Department^[1] tweeted, "APD is aware of a video going viral of a fight inside @Disneyland on Saturday. We responded to investigate. All parties were from the same family and were uncooperative. A report was taken. There was no video at the time. Now that we have video, the investigation can continue" (shown below, left). The tweet gained over 3,700 likes in a day. Disneyland also responded to the brawl on Twitter^[2] by saying, "In response to Guests' concerns regarding the altercation at Disneyland––any type of violence is inexcusable and will not be tolerated. Those involved were immediately removed from the premises and turned over to @AnaheimPD" (shown below, right). The tweet garnered over 4,800 likes in a day.

After the video went viral, various Twitter users responded to the event, many with comedic tweets which were collected in an article on Ebaum's World.^[5] Twitter user @KassieME^[3][4] shared both a flow chart of the people involved in the fight (shown below, left) and a list of information gathered regarding the background of the fight saying that it was possibly over infidelity (shown below, right). The tweets gathered over 1,100 likes and 300 likes respectively in a day.
