Josh Giddey Dating Minor Liv Cook Allegations refers to a scandal about Australian NBA player for the Oklahoma City Thunder Josh Giddey allegedly dating and sleeping with an underage girl named Liv Cook who's supposedly a sophomore at Newport Harbor High School in Orange County, California, making her either 15 or 16 years old. The scandal was started by multiple Snapchat videos and selfies showing them dancing at a club or shirtless in a bedroom mirror, among other compromising settings. The allegations spread across social media in November 2023, surfacing on Twitter / X and TikTok, among other sites. Many memes surfaced from the situation, including images and videos that paired Josh Giddey and Karl Malone (a former NBA player notorious for allegedly impregnating a minor).
Background
On November 22nd, 2023, the allegations started with a tweet shared by X[1][2] user @creaktwizz (since-deleted) in which the user shared videos from Instagram accounts named @oc.beers and @ocbeers_ (since-deleted) showing Josh Giddey with a blonde girl who he called "my girl." The "oc" Instagram accounts were "beer" drama accounts based in Orange County (OC), California. @creaktwizz alleged in the tweet that the girl was a junior in high school. The tweet received over 1.2 million views in one day before being deleted[3] (screenshot shown below).
On November 23rd, 2023, X[4] user @wstgoat7 posted a similar tweet with the pieces of media originally posted by @creaktwizz. However, @wstgoat7's tweet was not deleted, gaining over 24.2 million views and 45,000 likes in four days (shown below).
