Overview

Shitcamp is a collaborative event where popular Twitch streamers come together to participate in challenges and games together and ultimately create content together, hosting the streams on their various Twitch channels. The event began in 2021 and was started by streamer QTCinderella. Shitcamp was preceded by a similar event, called Shitcon, in May of that year and is set to be proceeded by ShitSummit in winter. Streamers involved in Shitcamp 2021 include Hasan Piker, xQc, Sodapoppin, Jschlatt, Ludwig and more.

Background

On May 29th, 2021, a number of Twitch streamers including Hasan Piker, xQc, Mizkif and more gathered for an unofficial Twitch conference and party called "Shitcon." The full four-hour-plus event stream was posted to YouTube on May 30th by HasanAbi VODs, gaining over 44,000 views in four months (shown below).

On September 9th, Twitch streamer QTCinderella announced the followup to Shitcon, dubbed Shitcamp, via a trailer on Twitter^[1] featuring a version of the Campfire Song Song from SpongeBob SquarePants, gaining over 23,000 likes and 1,100 retweets in three weeks (shown below). A full list of the events taking place was published to GINX,^[2] including events like a scavenger hunt, attending a gun range, hiking, kickball and a "PJ party." Mizkif notably did not attend Shitcamp after breaking up with his girlfriend, Maya Higa, who also attended the camp.

xQcOW posted numerous videos and vlogs consisting of content from the Shitcamp stream to YouTube over the course of the event, including full VODs of the day's events. On September 27th, he posted the full day one VOD of Shitcamp, gaining over 178,000 views in a day (shown below).

Online Reactions

The event gained significant hype following its announcement leading up to the days of the event. It also inspired jokes on Twitter^[3][4] about people realizing they have no friends while watching the stream and, in turn, Twitch friends collaborating and having fun together (examples shown below).
