On November 5th, 2024, xQc began countering and correcting tweets posted by the X account @EndWokeness about the election and the Harris campaign, as seen in a tweet in which he argues against the idea that Harris faked a phone call, and another tweet in which he shares Google's clarification about election-related search results.^[3][4]

News about xQc's bet was posted to the subreddit /r/LiveStreamFails^[6] by Redditor /u/EIMAfterDark on November 5th. The post gathered over 2,000 upvotes in a day.

Late on November 5th, 2024, soon after swing state votes began to indicate that Donald Trump might win the election, xQc attempted to back out of his bet but still lost $700,000. During the early hours of November 6th, xQc posted a YouTube^[5] video captioned, "HOW I LOST $700,000 DOLLARS." The post gathered over 70,000 views in a day.
