The Fat Horse GIF, also known as the Spinning Horse Sticker or Spinning Horse GIF, refers to an animated GIF of an overweight, brown horse walking in a circle. It was first posted by DeviantArt user Soobel in 2011. It was originally called the Bomb Horse Walking Around GIF and is visually similar to the Honse meme. The Fat Horse GIF went largely viral in June 2025, when TikTok users started spamming it in comment sections. That led to variations of the GIF, turning it into an exploitable.

Origin

On September 17th, 2011, DeviantArt^[1] user Soobel posted a GIF called "Bomb horse walking around," which showed an animation of an overweight horse walking counter-clockwise. Over 14 years, the GIF received 272 favorites (shown below).

Spread

Years later, on May 30th, 2021, a deactivated Tumblr^[2] user named showertimeshmoopsie posted sped-up version of the Spinning Horse GIF (shown below), captioning it, "GOOOOOOOOO YOU FUCKING HORNSE!!!!!!!!!!!!" The post received 75,400 notes in four years.

On January 27th, 2023, Tumblr^[3] user girlinyourphone posted the sped-up GIF, captioning it with lyrics from the song "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls.^[4] Over two years, the post received over 24,700 notes (shown below).

In 2025, the Spinning Horse Sticker spread on TikTok in comment sections and private DMs. For instance, on June 9th, 2025, TikToker^[5] @borgar101 shared a video of messages sent in their DMs, which included several Spinning Horse Stickers. Over four days, the video received over 1.3 million likes (shown below).

On June 10th, TikToker^[6] @spinning.horse posted a video of two fat horses circling in the GIF, gaining over 242,900 likes in three days (shown below).

Increasingly absurd iterations soon followed, like a video posted by TikToker^[7] @vasilina.07 on June 11th, 2025, which showed a spiral of Spinning Horse Stickers, gaining over 194,200 likes in two days (shown below).

Variant animations of the GIF also surfaced, like a video posted by TikToker^[8] @gogthealien on June 12th, which showed a Zeep Glorp Alien version of the horse, gaining over 262,900 likes in a day (shown below).
