Find Chanel The Missing Parrot refers to a viral video of Liverpool resident Sandra Hannah yelling outside for her missing African Grey parrot Chanel after the bird flew away. The video, which was first posted to Facebook in April 2020, caused the hashtag #FindChanel to trend and musical remixes of the video to be created. Chanel was found the day after she was lost and was returned to Hannah.

On April 19th, 2020, Facebook user Sandra Hannah went live while searching for her parrot in her neighborhood (shown below). The video gained over 129,000 views, 2,300 shares and 2,000 reacts in nine days.

Spread

On April 20th, 2020, Facebook user Sandra Hannah posted an update video saying that Chanel was found and accumulated over 92,000 views and 2,600reacts in eight days (shown below).

On April 23rd, Twitter user @jamesc1995 shared the original Facebook video and added the caption, "Utterly OBSESSED with this Facebook video of this woman who’s lost her parrot Chanel. #FINDCHANEL" (shown below). The tweet accumulated over 1.8 million views and 41,000 likes in five days.

That day, Twitter user @khallett98 captioned another clip of a British woman screaming "you don't have to yell!" saying, "Chanel on the canal when she can hear half of Liverpool screaming her name #FINDCHANEL" (shown below). The tweet gained over 78,800 views, 5,700 likes and 1,000 retweets in five days.

The next day, Twitter user @loveofhuns uploaded a remixed version of the original video which incorporates Robin S's song "Show Me Love" (shown below). The video garnered over 1.3 million views, 60,500 likes and 20,200 retweets in four days. The sound was then used in many TikTok videos over the next week.

On April 26th, TikToker millieashcroft5 and niamhlouis used the remixed sound clip in their own videos which garnered over 70,900 likes and 29,500 likes respectively in two days (shown below). Pop Buzz[1] published an article on Sandra Hannah's video.
