Girls With Autism vs. Boys With Autism refers to a subset of Girls vs. Boys memes that humorously compare perceived behaviors of females and males diagnosed with autism. The format uses a video of TikToker @jay_will_float_too to illustrate the behavior of girls with autism, with another video or image used to illustrate boys' behavior.
Origin
On July 28th, 2020, TikToker[1] @jay_will_float_too posted a video of herself in which she explains that she is autistic and gets sensory overload and that she is listening to a new song, showing her reaction. The video received over 46.9 million views and 7.6 million likes in one year (shown below).

On July 29th, 2020, Twitter[2] user @nxxtez shared the video on the site, with the clip gaining over 4.2 million views, 57,800 retweets and 460,000 likes prior to being deleted (screenshot shown below, left). On the same day, Twitter[3] user @mkultrasubject posted a still frame from @jay_will_float_too's TikTok and a photograph of Chris-Chan, captioning the post, "Girls with autism vs guys with autism." The tweet received over 1,000 retweets and 6,600 likes prior to being deleted (shown below, right).
Spread
The tweet by @mkultrasubject received criticism on Twitter in the following days; for example, on July 30th, 2020, Twitter[4] user @SourceLocator quote tweeted the post, writing, "You people are fucking gross." The tweet received over 180 retweets and 2,200 likes.
Starting in late July 2021, multiple tweets using the "Girls with autism vs. guys with autism" format were posted on Twitter. For example, a tweet[5] posted by user @kaiirosmoment received over 310 retweets and 3,100 likes in one year (shown below, left). A same-day tweet[6] by user @Natedogisdeadlo received over 2,500 retweets and 24,300 likes in the same period (shown below, center). On August 1st, 2020, Twitter[7] user @BatkaA02 posted a meta-joke based on the format that demonstrated the spread of the meme on Twitter (shown below, right).

Multiple viral tweets based on the format posted in 2020 and 2021 were later deleted, often due to Twitter accounts being suspended. For example, on November 22nd, 2020, Twitter user @GardaRumania posted a now-unavailable meme about JetBlue Burger King Racist (iFunny[8] repost shown below, left). On January 7th, 2021, Twitter user @Titsandnuggies posted a now-unavailable meme about the 2021 storming of the United States Capitol that was widely circulated in the following weeks (repost[9] shown below, right).
The format maintained moderate popularity through 2021. For example, on October 6th, 2021, YouTuber[10] Sly posted a meme about streamer Tyler1 that received over 876,000 views in two weeks.
